Now that
Smallville is over, it looks like the CW are invested in keeping their other big show going for as long as possible, much to the delight of fans. At the Television Critics Association press tour yesterday, the president of the network was asked whether the upcoming seventh season is set to be the final one for the series. (the show was originally thought to be coming to an end after the fifth season wrapped up) Here is an excerpt from
IGN TV's report.
"It is not intended to be the last season. We'll see where the ratings go." Pedowitz then added that neither he personally nor the network as a whole wanted it to end next year, remarking, "We hope that the show keeps on going." Asked what he felt accounted for the success of the show, Pedowitz replied, "The love of two brothers," saying he felt the audience had connected with the characters of Sam and Dean Winchester and remained invested in them.
Would you like to see the show continue, or have you had enough of Sam and Dean Winchester? Be sure to share your thoughts in the usual place! The seventh season of
Supernatural will air on the CW this Fall!
