Paul Feig Confirms That His All-Female GHOSTBUSTERS Reboot Is An Orgin Story
With Paul Feig's Ghostbusters reboot film set to hit theaters next year, Feig shared his thoughts on the classic films, while revealing that his all-female Ghostbuster reboot will be an origin story.
The Ghostbusters cinematic universe officially starts with Paul Feig's all-female reboot which includes Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones, and Kate McKinnon and is set to hit on July 22 of 2016. After this, an all-male Ghostbusters film is set to hit in theaters a few years later starring Channing Tatum and possibly, Chris Pratt as the lead characters, and attaching Anthony and Joe Russo as the directors for the film. Finally, after both films debut, a crossover film is expected that will see Feig’s team, team up with the Russo Bros. team!
But, before we get that far into the future of the franchise, Paul Feig sat down with AlloCine and revealed that his reboot film, is an origin story. His thoughts are below.
“I thought I'd rather do it as a reboot, so I wasn't tied to the old movies. The old movies are so good, I didn't want to mess with them. I also want to see the beginnings of this group. I want to see people seeing ghosts for the first time, and how they are going to fight them for the first time, how they develop their technology.”
We all are awaiting the release of the newest Ghostbusters film, and if this one is a success, I'm sure that people all over the world will be asking for more, especially with Channing Tatum and Chris Prat(?) signed on for the next film! Are you look forward to this new female-led Ghostbusters film? Sound off below with your thoughts!
