‘Iron Patriot’ Features In New IRON MAN 3 Promo Art

Offering somewhat of a new look at War Machine's upgraded armor, Iron Patriot, new promotional art for Marvel's Iron Man 3 movie also features Tony Stark's Mark XLVII armor. Check it out!

Not too long after production commenced in Wilmington, North Carolina, the first batch of Iron Man 3 set photos revealed that the famous Iron Patriot armor would feature in the Shane Black-directed installment. Although, recent reports revealed that Marvel were straying from its source material, having a returning ally of Tony Stark, James Rhodes, don the Iron Patriot armor rather than the Spider-Man foe Norman Osborn. And offering somewhat of a new look at the Iron Patriot armor, check it out via new promotional artwork!

Described as a “technological crisis thriller,” set in the world of international war, arms & terror, Marvel Studios' “Iron Man 3” stars Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, Dale Dickey, Ashley Hamilton, James Badge Dale, with Sir Ben Kingsley and Jon Favreau. Shane Black (“Kiss Kiss Bang Bang”) takes over directorial duties from Jon Favreau, who helmed the first two “Iron Man” films. Principal photography will occur primarily in North Carolina and China. And “Iron Man 3” is set for release in May 3, 2013.

Why are there just two random chicks in the photo?

I'm sure Iron Man 3's story, script, cinematography, etc. will be the best in the trilogy thus far... but I DESPISE these costume changes. Was hoping to see more of Iron Man Mark 7 (Avengers armor) in action alongside War Machine. Still not liking this yellow-dominant suit.

Didn't mind War Machine becoming Iron Patriot... it only makes sense with the way they're going with Rhoedy... but next to this new Iron Man, it looks like B&R material.

Those are clearly the two chicks Tony and Rhodey are gonna slam after they take down the bad guy. Gwen Paltrow is getting old.

Tony Stark can't remember who they are either.

This is obviously some backdrop for photo ops...

I dig the Iron Man XLVII armor but the Iron Patriot stuff looks terrible. Should've just upgraded War Machine and kept his color scheme because that looks kinda tacky.

You're going to want to save this soon. I think those two women are the product of a photoshop app, and the background wasn't meant to be released at this time.

I'm kind of starting to get the dirty gold armor here...
It makes sense when being deployed in the desert.

Rhodes was an a-hole in the second film, didn't like him at all. Wish he didn't have a large roll in this film. As for the two random girls, I just don't know.

They shouldn't of made iron patriot be war machine. I would've preferred it just be war machine. Messes up the whole war machine thing.

They haven't even confirmed that its "Iron Patriot." They only painted the armor similarly to Iron Patriot, they never CALL it Iron Patriot. Just like in Iron Man 2 they never CALL war machine, war machine. We only call him "War Machine" because we know that from the comics, but this isn't the comics. We have to go with what we are told from the movies, not the comics.

@cipher Ah, The Invisible Man. A classic! I'm a big fan of the old Universal Monster movies! To this day, I'm still baffled how they pulled off the effects in Invisible Man! They didn't have computers back then, after all!
