Meh.. I didn't care for the casting of that movie. Hammer was the only one that was ok, but even that....

I don't know much about his acting skills and yada yada yada.
But the character of John Stewart sucks. The closest Common came to be in character was when he moped around after the movie was shut down, that's all John seems to do.

We all want a good movie Green Lantern, whether or not Common could have pulled that off we will never know. I really hope Warner make a good Justice League film not just because Marvel made The Avengers ... put some actual effort into it.

I lost a few years in the 00s lol does anyone know the full lineup and the actors that were meant to play them. Thats what's wrong with the GL character everyone has a different favourite if this continues.to he the case he will never be successful on the big screen. The flash is in trouble of going the same way, even the animation gets Allen and West's personalitys mixed so you can't tell the characters apart.

John Stewart was always my least favorite human Green Lantern out of Jordan, Rayner, and Gardner. But I still like him to a degree. I remember when it was announced that Common would be Stewart, glad that never came true. The guy is such a terrible actor. I can't think of ONE rapper that is a good actor other than Snoop Lion bwahahaha. But oh well we ended up getting shitty Ryan Reynolds for Hal, ugh.

We'll never know how his acting would have been. Common takes good direction. None of the actors or directors have anything negative to say about his work ethic. There are other choices for JS out there. Common was gaining popularity at the time was the reason for his casting.

Common is good on Hell On Wheels tv show,a western on AMC.
He would be good as John Stewart in a JLA film or supporting character in GL film.
