Collider has confirmed today that Harry Lennix (Man of Steel; Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice) will indeed reprise his role as General Swanwick in Zack Snyder's Justice League, and here's the kicker - not only will he appear as Swanwick, but Lennix has officially confirmed that his character will finally be revealed as the Martian Manhunter.
Snyder has been teasing J'onn J'onzz appearance in his film for several years now, sharing storyboards as well as cryptic hints, but after being replaced as director on Justice League back in 2017, his original vision for the character never saw the light of day, and fans were left wondering whether the fan-favorite Justice Leaguer would ever make his big-screen debut.
In addition to restoring Lennix's previously cut scenes, Snyder also shot new material with the actor during the fall reshoots. However, considering that Snyder himself has stated only a few minutes of new footage will be added to his final cut, it seems likely the Martian Manhunter's appearance will be more of an extended cameo than a full-fledged role - unless he had a bigger part in the original cut than we've been led to believe.
No word yet on when the Snyder Cut will end up hitting HBO Max, but it's been heavily rumored for a Spring debut.
