How BvS Might Lead Into JUSTICE LEAGUE

My outline on how Batman vs Superman may lead directly into Justice League.
The last few weeks/months we have gotten plenty of rumors and reports on how Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will lead into Justice League. Here I’ve outlined how I these two movies should and can connect based on on those rumors/reports.

The last few weeks/months we have gotten plenty of rumors and reports on how Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will lead into Justice League. Here I’ve outlined how I these two movies should and can connect based on on those rumors/reports.

  • The events of Man of Steel leads to the emergence of other heroes
  • Batman, seeing Superman as a threat, challenges the man of steel. Meanwhile Diana/Wonder Woman is dispatched from Themyscira to observe and report on what is occurring
  • Lex Luthor wages an anti-Superman campaign in public, while in private developing a weapon (the film’s second villain) to take down Superman
  • This new enemy emerges (possibly Doomsday) and forces Batman and Superman to put aside their differences and work together. Wonder Woman, realizing she can’t sit idly by, joins the fight
  • Superman dies in battle
  • Batman realizes the world was better off with Superman and sets about tracking down and assembling a group of heroes (hence the rumored cameos/casting)
  • In Justice League, the newly formed team would face Doomsday (or possibly another villain) before the eventual return of Superman at some point during the movie

So thats my theory. Thoughts?

No. Superman should not die.

What is it with everyone wanting Superman to die in this movie? [frick]ing seriously? And then return in JL? C'mon!

Doomsday would be a stupid JL Villain IMO.
Doomsday is NOT primary villain material IMO as he provides basically no dialogue to the movie.

If he's going to be a Villain, he needs to be 2nd to someone else. (i.e. Luthor)

As for a film's 2nd Villain Created by Luthor, there are a couple of routes for that.

The obvious example is Metallo. (I still think that kryptonite should not be found on earth, but brought here by brainiac in a future JL story arc)

Then there's Bizarro. but there's a slight twist. Based on the current story so far, Lex Luthor wouldn't need Superman's blood to create bizarro.

Bizarro is often portrayed as being a falty clone of superman that Lex Luthor Created through superman DNA found in his blood. But here in the MOS universe, there's a machine that creates kryptonian babies.

What if Lex Luthor tries to rebuild and modify one of the destroyed machines in the ship, and the machine works, but is falty thus the newborn turns into bizarro?

He'd still have bizarro's powers, he just wouldn't need to look like a zombified cavill, because there's no need to have superman's DNA when you have a kryptonian baby maker.

@Prime
Completely agree.
I think its [frick]ing stupid that people want superman to die already so early.

If anything, the death of Superman story arc would be like in Man of Steel 3,
not in BvS.

I wouldnt say Superman dies, but gets badly injured that Batman takes him and hides him at the Batcave, leading people to believe he died, where we will see Jeremy Irons as Alfred taking care and watching over him till the final climax battle that Supes is fully healed and joins the rest :]

I'm not saying I want him to die, I'm saying I have a feeling they are going to kill him. Those funeral set picks posted earlier really seem to suggest it. Depending on how its handled the death and return of superman arc could easily be adapted into BvS/JL.

I like your ideas. If Superman where to die or perhaps was to get badly injured i'd have no problem with it. A Justice League should be formed to take down a greater threat and what greater threat than to be Doomsday but if all the Justice League's members are to get involved they should be fighting not just against Doomsday but an army of supervillains or aliens, robots, ect.

I actually don't mind the idea of Sups dying as long as he doesn't actually die but is presumed dead. I also I like the idea of Bats forming the league as a result of the "death" of Sups.

Good write up, I'd just go a bit more into detail though.

Pretty solid prediction. I can see it going down this way.

So if hypothetically Superman dies in BvS, would he come back as a villain similar to how he was potrayed in the Doomsday Arc? Idk that would be pretty cool like having the JL take down a suped-up Superman.

I don't see the problem with Superman 'dying' in this movie.

Captain America 'died' in the first movie.

You know they'll show him alive in the last scene.

SPOILERS??

Doomsday will be an agent of Darkseid sent to destroy Superman before the inevitable invasion from Apokolips. The movie will end with a huge cliffhanger. Not only will Superman be dead, but will Batman begin a mission to find other heroes to fight in the war. The invasion begins pretty much straight away and the final shot of the movie will be Batman watching the invasion on monitors as well as looking at news and CCTV footage of other super-powered beings around the world.

Justice League will open a few months later, with the world pretty much completely under Darkseid's control. A few pockets of resistance remain but the superheroes aren't united. Batman has failed in his mission. Meanwhile, Superman is on Apokolips where he is constantly brought back to life and killed over and over by DeSaad. One person who escaped Apokolips will be Martian Manhunter who will inform Batman of Superman's fate, sparking a rescue mission that will ultimately bring Superman back to Earth and see the Justice League come together to strike back against Darkseid.

Why did I put a question mark after "spoilers?" because this is all bullshit, but it's what I would do.

My question is why does everyone think that he dies?

The one thing they could do that would actually piss me off would be to do the Death of Superman storyline. I just hate having comic stories adapted almost directly to a movie, and I really, really hate the idea of killing any hero off (the exception would be Thor, because dying and going to Hel and then coming back is a natural part of his mythos.) Among other things, these films should be fairly kid-friendly, even if they are PG-13, and seeing Superman killed, especially as brutally as he is killed by Doomsday in that storyline, would be potentially very traumatic for younger kids. And I can't see them doing that. (Plus, if they were doing that, I think they would be much more secretive about it, and wouldn't film a scene out in the open of people laying flowers at his broken statue that could be photographed by onlookers and basically let people know the ending of the film 2 years in advance.)

I do have a potential theory about the scenes shot yesterday. What if the "battle" between Batman & Superman is just staged by the two of them? It could go like this: Batman comes to Metropolis to investigate Superman, and at some point early on there is a small confrontation (think Thor v. Iron Man in Avengers, except probably even smaller.) Batman comes to trust him, while not totally agreeing with him on everything. While in Metropolis, Batman becomes suspicious of Lex Luthor's efforts to discredit Superman, thinking that he has ulterior motives to just being worried about an alien with that much power. In order to expose Luthor's true motives, Batman talks Superman into staging a very public battle between the two of them near the statue, which destroys it and Superman "dies" during the battle. With Superman out of the way, Luthor begins whatever scheme he had in mind, maybe a partnership with Brainiac or maybe he did make Metallo to help him. Then once the scheme has been exposed, Superman returns to help stop it. And Wonder Woman helps in the final battle too.

This is probably totally wrong, but it would make sense. I just hope they don't kill off Superman at the end and then have him come back in JL because I could see that turning off general audiences.

@Lhornbk
Yeah I thinking something similar. along the lines of the death being faked or something to make some strategic move.

I just dont like the notion that doomsday is a "main villain" type character.
same for metallo and bizarro since they're creations of Luthor (generally).

I mean doomsday is powerful, no one is denying that, but the character is pure brute. Having Doomsday as a main villain would mean having a mindless action movie with no substance. It wouldn't be right if its just superman and doomsday. there would need to be another villain in the mix.

My guess is that it is not the death of superman but a memorial for all those lost on the day the world engine was there.

Killing off Superman only to bring him back in the next film whilst trying to fool the audiences into thinking he is dead is stupid, cheap, lazy and removes all weight from any future hero deaths.
Forthas
Forthas - 6/26/2014, 9:44 AM
The ideas above work in a comic book but not in live action which (knowing Warner Brothers) means it probably will happen. They have not even established that there are other aliens and for Luthor to have the technology to create Doomsday two years after Man of Steel is getting into the cartoony zone. Once they go that route it is all systems FAIL!

Archangel82 - 6/26/2014, 10:59 AM
Why would they introduce Superman in one film and then kill him off in the sequel only to have him return in the next installment. Now, I'm not saying WB won't do the death of Superman storyline at some point but as of now I think it's to early. After all we just got Superman back into the world of movies and this film is suppose to be a sequel to the Man of Steel. WB may not be using Marvels formula for assembling their shared universe but it would seem that they do have a plan of their own. Time will only tell. Let's hope WB gives the fans what they want.

I don't see why it's too early.

Cap 'died' in Cap 1.
Thor 'died' briefly in the first movie.
Neo died in the Matrix.
Kirk 'died' in STID.

Obviously he would come back in the last scene.

The Death of Superman was awesome when it came out but now is widely criticized because they brought him back. So I doubt they'd do that on screen.

@Feedonatreefrog

It was known in the beginning that Cap didn't die, so it wasn't meant to be suspenseful like the Death of Superman was supposed to be.
