We recently learned from Batman scribe Scott Snyder that he had been offered the chance to continue Zack Snyder's Justice League in a comic book. While WarnerMedia has given the green light to the "Snyder Cut" on HBO Max, the chances of the filmmaker getting to continue his story with a "Justice League: Part Two" have to be slim.
After all, he's not exactly known for making cheap movies, and bringing that cast together again won't be easy. So, why not finish the story in comic book form to give fans closure?
During a recent Q&A (via Cinema Blend), Snyder revealed that he's spoken to DC Comics Publisher Jim Lee about finishing his vision on the page. He certainly wouldn't have to deal with any budget restraints in that format, and if Lee would be willing to provide the interior artwork, well, that would be epic.
"I don’t think anything is going to happen right away," Snyder said when asked about finishing the arc that began with Man of Steel. "But Jim [Lee] and I talk quite a bit. And we talked a lot about maybe doing a book or a comic book down the road just to kind of finish this. We haven’t locked anything in, but if it’s a thing that would be interesting to the fandom, they can always ask Jim about it."
If this does happen, it's likely that the comic would take place on an Earth which has been decimated by Darkseid. In that reality, it's up to the League to travel back in time and make things right.
Fingers crossed this comic book sequel pans out, eh?
