In attendance at Chicago's Wizard World Comic Con, geek fan-favorite actor Nathan Fillion was asked if he could play any comic book character, who would he pick? Once upon a time, Fillion's answer would have been Green Lantern. Fillion has already played Hal Jordan in several DC Animated films and has previously gone on record to voice his desire to play a live-action version of Green Lantern. But with a Green Lantern reboot confirmed last July at San Diego Comic-Con and rumored casting lists emerging, Fillion may have looked at the candidates and realized that the DCEU will have a much younger Jordan.
In any case, Fillion seems to have moved on from Green Lantern and would now like to play Booster Gold. Is this a sign that big thins are in the works for the Dan Jurgens creation? On the surface, the inclusion of Booster on a time-traveling focused show like DC's Legends of Tomorrow would be a no-brainer, but the show's executive producers have already told fans that WB informed that Booster was off limits.
On his desire to play a live-action Michael Jon Carter, Fillion stated,
"I think I could take a pretty good crack at Booster Gold. That’s kind of my niche… show-offy, vain. I think I could handle that… not too bright." But if Booster Gold doesn't work out, Fillion does have a fallback plan.
"I think Ambush Bug. Remember that guy? Little bit off his rocker. You’d never see my face. I think Greatest American Hero is due for a reboot."
