After Superman died during the battle with Doomsday in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, The Daily Planet reported that Clark Kent was also killed in the melee. However, following the return of the Man of Steel in Justice League, we saw that his human alter-ego was once again walking around Metropolis and seemingly a journalist again with absolutely no explanation as to how that happened.
Well, during a recent fan Q&A, Henry Cavill was asked how Clark's return will be addressed without his identity as Superman being exposed and it sounds like, well, it won't be! "It's a tricky one. The wonderful thing about movies is that it's a suspension of disbelief. We're talking about a guy who can fly, who can shoot lasers out of his eyes. And so there are ways of doing it but telling these stories, it's about your enjoyment. It's about my enjoyment. It's about enjoyment for the viewer."
"And so we can spend four hours of a movie explaining why and how Clark comes back. But is that what you want to see?" When the fans responded with "no," Cavill said: "If I had billions and billions and billions of dollars and I could make six movies a year all based on Superman, yeah, we would go through that." He sort of makes a valid point but it sounds like Warner Bros. is taking the easy way out.
The actor did at least say that we should expect to see it addressed in some way the next time Superman shows up in the DC Films Universe but the actor seemed more interested in just telling a decent story revolving around the hero and it's hard to fault that! What do you think about this?
