JUSTICE LEAGUE Test Screenings Reportedly On Par With WONDER WOMAN But It Seems Steppenwolf Isn't A Highlight
Justice League has been the focus of a lot of negative press due to those extensive reshoots from Joss Whedon but a new report claims that recent test screenings have scored extremely well with viewers.
While the DC Films Universe is expected to head down a very different route following the release of Justice League this month, expectations are still high for the movie to perform well both critically and commercially. With extensive reshoots having taken place and a second director added to the mix for those, it's possible it will be a mess but a new report points to that not actually being the case.
Apparently, Justice League has been described as a "crowd-pleaser" and recent test screenings showing the final cut of the highly anticipated DC Comics adaptation scored well with those in attendance.
So well, in fact, that the audience score wasn't too far behind Wonder Woman, a release which went on to be a huge critical and commercial success for Warner Bros. Unfortunately, though, The Wall Street Journal's Ben Fritz wasn't overly keen on at least one element. In a now deleted Tweet, he said: "I don't do reviews but I will say this after seeing "Justice League": Ezra Miller's Flash really is a standout. Steppenwolf is not." That's just one opinion but could be a precursor of what's to come!
After all, fans have been confused since day one why Zack Snyder would choose a character like Steppenwolf as the first foe for the League and nothing about him so far looks particularly special! What do you guys think? As always, be sure to let us know your thoughts in the comments section.
