ZACK SNYDER'S JUSTICE LEAGUE Star Ray Porter Addresses An Apparent Darkseid Plot Hole In The Movie

Why didn't Darkseid remember Earth? That's a question many fans have posed since Zack Snyder's Justice League hit HBO Max last March, but actor Ray Porter has now offered a pretty compelling explanation.

It's now been well over a year since Zack Snyder's Justice League was released on HBO Max, and while there are still plenty of fans campaigning to #RestoreTheSnyderVerse, it definitely feels like the vast majority have moved on. The movie's shock release was supposed to close the door on this era of storytelling, of course, and The Flash will reportedly go so far as to wipe the SnyderVerse out of existence.

Ray Porter played Darkseid in the "Snyder Cut" of Justice League, and while he made a memorable impact as the iconic villain, fans have been left with one big unanswered question about a possible plot hole. That is, of course, how Uxas/Darkseid could have possibly forgotten the location of the Anti-Life Equation after he was defeated by men, Atlanteans, and Amazons during his first visit to the planet.

Talking to FandomWire, Porter shared his take on Darkseid's apparent forgetfulness in the movie.

"Consider the fact that he’s turned a hundred thousand worlds to dust, it was so long ago that he found this equation and then it was taken from him in battle and he always wanted to 're-find' it. We are talking so many thousands of years, so many planets, universes, and possible Earths. Uxas, the person who became Darkseid has also changed so much in that long timespan."

"For someone whose knowledge spans so much, maybe the knowledge got lost in the vastness that it was on this Earth in particular. Then, Steppenwolf, of all people, approaches him about this."

To be honest, this is still a bit of a noteworthy plot hole, but Porter's explanation is as good as any, and it worked within the context of Zack Snyder's Justice League. Hopefully, the door isn't fully closed on Snyder's story being told in some format in the coming years, even if it's in a comic or animated movie.

Are you still holding out hope for a sequel to the Snyder Cut?
