Emilia Clarke has had mixed fortunes with her attempts to make the leap from television to the big screen;
Solo: A Star Wars Story was plagued with behind the scenes issues which led to it underperforming, while
Terminator Genisys was a total disaster (oh, and the less said about
Last Christmas, the better).
Now, the actress is appearing on stage following the end of
Game of Thrones on HBO, and she admitted during an interview with The Times that a Marvel Studios movie would be of interest.
"I want to do something absolutely stupid and silly, like, you know, The Avengers or whatever," she said, alluding to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
"Something where I got to have a giggle with mates." It doesn't sound like Clarke has really given this a lot of serious thought, but she's clearly looking to have an enjoyable time filming a blockbuster after some disappointing past experiences.
There are certainly a lot of characters the actress could play in the MCU, and it's hard not to wonder whether she could be referring to what fellow
Game of Thrones alum Kit Harington is doing in
Eternals when she talks about getting to "have a giggle with mates." Thus far, though, we've heard nothing about Clarke being eyed for roles in any comic book universe.
However, keep in mind that she was once reportedly cast in
Iron Man 3, so she may have a history with Kevin Feige which could open the door to some sort of appearance down the line.
