Christopher Nolan Rewriting INTERSTELLAR Script, Will Include His Original Idea

With The Dark Knight Rises' Christopher Nolan in talks to direct his next project, it has been reported that the writer-director will be rewriting his brother Jonah's script for the sci-fi Interstellar and will include his original ideas.

Last night, it was reported that critically acclaimed writer-director Christopher Nolan's next project will be an original sci-fi film titled Interstellar, which was written by his brother Jonah for Paramount Pictures. After his work on Inception and The Dark Knight trilogy, it'd be hard not to get excited to see what he does next. Now, sources tell Deadline that Nolan will not only direct the project if negotiations go according to plan, he is also writing a script that will merge an original idea of his with Jonah's script. The story follows "a heroic interstellar voyage to the furthest borders of our scientific understanding." The film will also reportedly feature time travel and alternate dimensions, and the script is inspired by the work of physicist Kip S. Thorne. Additionally, Warner Bros., Nolan's unofficial home studio, will be co-producing Interstellar with Paramount. Chris Nolan, Emma Thomas and Lynda Obst are producing, while Thorne and Jordan Goldberg will executive produce. No cast, production or release timeline for Interstellar have been confirmed yet.

TDKR was alright. Definitely the weakest of the three films and my personal biggest letdown of 2012.

How about a July 2015 release!!

& I agree with others giving Memento reference!

I truly hope it turns out Memento meets Inception!
Jonathan's story, rewritten by Christopher, in space with time-travel & alternate dimentions!
Why on earth anyone wouldn't be excited for this... & it's an original film!!

Hope it's got a Space-Ship like ENTERPRISE & PROMETHEUS (ship) & has lots of Space action... Like Star Wars & Star Trek!
Hoping to see Zero Gravity again in a Nolan film!
& with a stellar cast... & with a complex script!
Look LOOPER wasn't that complex as I wish it would; come on its a time travel film: u can easily rape viewers mind (In a good MATRIX way!) but it wasn't complex at all!
Other than that it's an incredible film; 4th Favourite film of the year!

So I'm hoping that all those people who are sleeping since inception fvcked their mind get a massive mind-fvck with this & people can understand that Understanding INCEPTION & keeping track of Dream Within A Dream isn't difficult; u just have to be awake!

So with all those hopes.... BRING ME INTERSTELLER.

LOVE the dark knight trilogy but I'm happy to see the remainder of Noka s career will probably be original stories. A dying breed for sure.

I thought his rythm with the batman films and his own stuff. he makes one of his own, then a batman film, one of his own, etc...now that is no longer possible. I hope he will feel under less pressure when he's making his own project and not franchise films (albeit very ambitious ones).

Really excited after reading that logline. Seems like it might be a very daring type of sci-fi epic. Excited to hear more.

NO surprise, like I said earlier, Jonathan Nolan is the weakest of the three in terms of writing (Christopher, David and Jonathan). The Dark Knight Rises' script wasn't bad, but I truly believe that if Nolan had a longer shot at the script it could've been a much tighter script.

^ Jonathan Nolan is the reason The Dark Knight was so good. he is a better writer than Chris because he is a WRITER. Chris went to him to help with TDK and he solved it. He did Memento Mori which chris adapted into a movie. Chris and Jonah go back and forth with scripts. This is normal. Jonah writes an amazing script and chris takes it and cuts it down.

David Goyer was CLEARLY the weakest link in that writing trio.
See: Everything he's done that isn't Batman.

Ah . . . I was quite confused there for a minute

Agreed, Goyer is without a doubt the weakest.

Jonah Nolan has helped Chris write every single movie he's made, including Memento (which he actually created) and The Prestige.

Jonah Nolan rocks

I wonder who Nolan will use as his cinematographer now that Phister is directing. Also wonder if he will use Zimmer again or look for someone else to do the score. Either way I am excited to see how this movie turns out
