All Is As The Force Wills It: AVENGERS Star Sebastian Stan Would Love To Play Luke Skywalker

For over a year, Stan's similarities to Luke Skywalkwer have struck a chord for fans. A year later it seems like the Winter Soldier wouldn't hesitate to join the Star Wars universe.

Sebastian Stan has been all over the big screen as of late. Besides his definitive turn as the Bucky Barnes a.k.a. The Winter Soldier in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the actor has also worked with auteur directors Ridley Scott and Steven Soderbergh as part of their more recent endeavors. In addition being a modern teenage heartthrob, fans all over the world have championed Stan to join the only film franchise more universal than the MCU, Star Wars.

Last year, fan art featuring Stan as Luke Skywalker hit the internet by storm. The actor's uncanny resemblance to the original trilogy's protagonist was so indistinguishable that even star Mark Hamill had to join in on the fun. The actor acknowledged their facial similarities and iconic metal arms on Twitter a few months back.

During a panel at Rhode Island Comic Con, Stan was very enthusiastic to jump into the topic following another fan's question. "I just want to say here that anytime anyone would like to call me and ask me about  Luke Skywalker I'd be very happy [to play him.]"

It may be too late to insert the Winter Soldier into The Last Jedi flashbacks, but it isn't too late for a cameo for the Obi-Wan movie. Forget young Han Solo, this is the only original trilogy recast worth seeing in the theater.

Now THIS I wouldn't mind seeing. I don't know if anyone else can play Han Solo except for Ford, but Sebastian Stan could probably pull off an older Luke between the events of RotJ and TFA

I want them to retry the prequels and have him play Anakin but obviously that will never happen

It would be a wasted opportunity if they don't use him for flashbacks.

The first time I ever saw him was in that Man-witch movie, "The Covenant" and seeing his face I thought to myself, "He would make a good Luke in Star Wars." Even now, he's the perfect age for a slightly older and experienced Luke. The way he moved in "TWS" combined as a Jedi would be ultimately badass.

Perfect casting I am down for a Luke Skywalker Trilogy in-between ROTJ and TFA but now they've destroyed the EU and essentially said the force disappeared who would Luke fight?

For some reason this is more acceptable to me than recasting Han Solo. Maybe it's cause Sebastian actually looks like Mark, or that Luke is a little less unique of a character as Han is. Probably the latter.
