Although not generally known outside the industry yet, Zetumer has had A LOT going on behind the scenes. He's written the spy thriller Infiltrator, which is to star Leonardo DiCaprio for Warner Bros. Additionally he wrote several drafts of what was supposed to be Peter Berg's version of Dune, he was the writer behind the now aborted fourth Bourne Identity film and has handed in the screenplay for Vale, described as a supernatural action thriller (also at Warners).

Seriously why? We already saw Murphy kick-ass in the 1st 3 movies, we DON'T NEED TO REBOOT THE WHOLE FRANCHISE! That's like rebooting: "Spider-Man"? Oh wait they already did that with calling it: The Amazing Spider-Man.

Damn Hollywood can't get noghting right these day's. Whatever happened to being "orginal". Orginality, beats them all, jsut saying.

This is a film that DOES NOT need remaking/rebooting or whatever you wan't to call it. I first saw this film as a kid when it came out on VHS (remember those lol) and thought it was absolutely brilliant. I watched it recently, and it was still, absolutely brilliant. It doesn't need updating for today's generation. I watched it with my 13 year old niece, and she thought it was awesome. The effects still stand up today, the action is still spot on, there's a very human story in there (something of a rarety in 80's films), and who else could pull Clarence Boddicker off even half as good as Kurtwood Smith.
While we're on the subject, Total Recall and The Crow don't need remaking either.

LEAVE ROBOCOP ALONE!!!! IM SERIOUS!!!!......really this character doesn't need to be remade or rebooted to a modern era. He was a satire on the 80s American culture, with the idea of a corporation controlling a service that they themselves could influence to have only the rich pay for while allowing the poor to fend for themselves......They had their chances of making a great movie into a franchise that challenged people's sensibilities when it came to the culture they live in. #2 was a fun silly 80s action movie and #3 was a literal #2, it was so bad I felt it offended me, and I was 6 when it came out. As for everyone saying "lets see him upgraded"....NO...NO....bad fanboys bad...the character was supposed to be bulky and look like it has some real weight to it, you know like how all mechanical beings should have. The Bayformers for example despite being huge they don't seem to have any weight to them, they roll around and leap in the air with ease, giant hunks of metal can't do that without causing some form of damage to the ground or environment.....theres suspension of disbelief and then theres insulting my intelligence.....Keep Robocop away from the reboot chopping block, same with Total Recall, The Crow, Escape from New York, any great 80s/90s movie doesn't need a modern interpretation, let them exist in the time that they were created....its called Nostalgia, we remember these things from our past and enjoy them for what they gave us back then and how they made like what we like today

I'd totally love to see Patrick Wilson get this role!
Nothing could make me happier.

And to the "fans" complaining.
I'm a fan too.
After the lousy 2nd and 3rd movies, the 2 absolutely terrible live-action series, and the 2 lame animated series, and mediocre comics....
Robo could use one more GOOD movie.
Let him go out on a high note.

Is Aronovsky still attached to Direct? And speaking of him, aren't we due for some Wolverine news? TDKR and The Avengers have been releasing some good stuff, where's Wolverine?

I'm with those here who say DON'T REMAKE ROBOCOP! The original is one of my personal favorite movies, and there is nothing that could be done to "improve" it. I'm fine with a sequel if it wipes out the previous sequels, and gets back to the clever satire and social commentary that made the original such a classic.

I'd rather see a remake of this classic:
