Yeah, nothing much here. I have no idea what to expect, so I'll just wait and see. Coming Soon has a little more info about the release date:

"We were handed some promo art and a sales sheet for MGM's RoboCop today at the Licensing International Expo in Las Vegas. The sales sheet says that the studio is targeting a 2013 release for the film, which will be directed by Jose Padilha."

Oops, yeah it was. The only thing they really had up was a crap ton of anime and japanese stuff. I didnt see Robocop.

itbegins2005 You're completely right. The new Robocop will have no technical bearring on the original and we have access to those films if we choose. What I was saying was more along the lines of people remembering the last thing you've done. For example; shitty STAR WARS prequels puts a nice thin coat of shit on STAR WARS as a whole, regardless of the fact that I can avoid them if I choose. The bad parts tarnish the good parts.

Now, I don't have any Robocop posters or T-Shirts, but I do remember growing up watching that movie repeatedly. So, it is a classic of sorts. Hollywood has been pulling remakes, reboots and made-into-a-movie movies out of their ass for the last decade or so. That's the first thing that makes a new Robocop sound like shit to me. The continued, trying to cash in on a notible name tactic. These films are rarely any good. So, it comes out, it sucks ass, and whatever Robocop films came before will now be associated with it. I'm not going to protest or anything, but they basically need to come up with some new ideas. And I imagine this will be low-budget too. Probably some lionsgate side project shit.

Now that I think about it, the first Robocop is the only one I remember being good. How many are there? I stopped watching them at some point. There was this one and it wasn't even the original actor and he went home and was having flashbacks and shit. I dunno, man.
