4-Year-Old's STAR WARS-Themed Funeral Fulfills His Final Wish

Jack Robinson, a 4-year-old Hampshire boy with an inoperable brain tumor, died last week. Before his death, Jack had several of his dreams come true. He was visited at the hospital by Gary Barlow, a judge on the U.K. edition of the X Factor and frontman of the British pop-group Take That. Jack was a admirer of Barlow's single 'Let Me Go.' Jack was also a huge Doctor Who fan, and received a personalized message from Matt Smith, the Eleventh Doctor (video at bottom of the page). He was even given a ride in a fire engine as an early birthday present.

All of those acts of kindness certainly helped ease the young boy's pain, yet Jack had one final wish - a Star Wars-themed funeral. Two days ago in Denmead, Hampshire, at All Saints' church, Jack's family and friends gathered to make that final wish a reality.
His parents Terence and Marie Robinson were determined to celebrate their son's life and passions, having his body carried in a Star Wars coffin on a white horse-drawn carriage surrounded by stormtroopers. His carriage was covered floral tributes, including one reading 'Jedi' and wreaths in the shape of a lightsaber, Yoda and R2-D2. Inside the church a brass band played the film's The Binary Sunset music - known as Luke Skywalker's theme - and the order of service read: 'Master Jack Robinson, joined the force 1st April 2014'. - dailymail.co.uk
After the funeral Jack's father said: "Jack was a special boy, he was unique and brought everyone together. We needed to give him a unique send off, and the brilliant sunshine that came out for it was Jack looking down on us. I will always love you son."

He's one with the force now. Rest in peace, Jack.

It's sad how special Star Wars is to people and how Lucas did nothing after Empire but to create toy commercials and give it's fans garbage.
As a whole I think Star Wars is undeserving of such fans as that boy.

Oh man, this story is so touching and helps put things into perspective. I hope those earlier acts of kindness lessened Jack's pain, even a little bit, and what an awesome way to honor his memory and last wish with his funeral. Rest in peace, little guy.
