Since Disney announced that they are making a new Star Warstrilogy, we have all wondered who exactly will be involved. We know J.J. Abrams will direct Star Wars: Episode 7, and we assume Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, and Carrie Fisher will return as Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Princess Leia. But one person we haven't heard to much from is Billy Dee Williams. Recently the actor posted on the following to his Facebook page.

"Everyone is still asking about the new Star Wars movie.... the best way to ensure that Billy Dee Williams will be in the new film is to FB, TWITTER, BLOG and tell Disney and Lucasfilm that you want to see LANDO again! Hopefully JJ will read the wishes and write in LANDO! UNTIL then.... here is all that is known: "I am in the dark with the actual plans that Disney and Lucasfilm have for the future of the “Star Wars” universe. I have heard the same rumors that the fans heard, that a new trilogy is being made, that spin-offs may be made, that we all [Mark, Carrie, Harrison and myself] are going to be reprising our roles in these projects. At this point in time, nothing has been confirmed about my participation and I have signed no contracts. I assure you that I would absolutely love to reprise my role of Lando Calrissian. He's a character that I took great pride in creating on screen and have continued to be a part of when providing his voice for video games, the new “Star Wars Detours” cartoon and for various episodes of “Robot Chicken”, among other projects. It’s a lot of fun to keep Lando alive and I am eager to do it again, on film, when I get the call. I thank all the fans out there for their continued support and I hope to get the call from Disney and Lucasfilm real soon, until then, may the force be with us all!" ~ Billy Dee Williams"

So let's bust out the Colt 45 boys. I think I speak for everybody when I say that Billy Dee should come back as Lando. There isn't a single downside to this. What do you think? Comment below. Peace.

Interesting...
I'd like to see Lando return, but it's not one of the things I'm "praying" for in the new series.

I want to see Lando in this too. Obviously not as a main character. But it would be cool to see Chancelor Calrissian or something. I don't think anyone wants to see the old timers in the main roles, but if they're alive, why not use them in some capacity. The real question is will John Hollis be back as Lobot?

What a guy. Not too proud like so many Hollywood actors to simply state the truth, yeah of course I'd like to be considered for this part. Give me a call! When Billy Dee asks for something, he gets it. Disney, the balls in your court.

Maybe there's no place to write everyone in. They really want new characters in the new trilogy! Maybe he has a cameo in Episode 8. I personally don't need to see every actor from the OT in the NT.

I want him in VII too! And VIII, where he would sacrifice himself with Chewbacca and Han bringing down the Imperial Remnant.

I saw BDW at the Emerald City Comic Con this year and he's slowed down a bit. But I think he has it in him to muster up some good deliveries and shoot some Stormtroopers. : ]

If they were smart, they'd forget the whole thing and just reboot the entire concept with a sensible rewrite that doesn't involve the same characters related to each other throughout a series of nine films over the most ridiculous circumstances.

Anakin, who creates C3PO and leaves Tatooine with aid of R2D2 blows up big federation control ship. Gets hand cut off but darklord previously trained by Yoda. Turns into Vader who ends up capturing his own Daughter who is later rescued by his son with a little help from his son-in-law to be, his former master, his old R2 unit and C3PO the droid he built as a boy. Son of Anakin later blows up father's Death Star again with the aid of the same R2D2 unit. Son later gets hand cut off like his father by Darklord who again was also trained by Yoda. It took 20 years to make a large Death Star, it takes three years to make an even bigger one. First Death Star destroyed by torpedoes shot down a 2 metre shaft, second Death Star destroyed by spaceships flying down a tunnel conveniently built big enough for ships to fly all the way to the most vulnerable point of the station?

Luke sits down for 5 seconds and thinks about everything and realises that the only woman who can possibly be his sister is the only woman who has a main recurring part in any of the three films he's in.. Leia! ...Genius!

Continue this shit or reboot it? REBOOT!

That's funny, you actually have a point. :)

But guess the explanation is "the force"; that is why Star Wars is fantasy and not science fiction.

@helagood, I agree, I think James Earl Jones and Frank Oz should get cameos as another character.

Gee, I thought he'd be too busy with all the work he's getting lately. The Ladies Man 2 shooting schedule alone must be exhausting, and the press tour for Colt 45's millennium edition will make it difficult from a logistical standpoint. Rest easy my friend...

Honestly I could do without any of the original cast, of either film. I think they'd serve as an unnecessary hindrance to telling an honest Star Wars adventure that can kick ass on its own terms.

EXCEPT for Artoo and Threepio. You don't have them, you don't have Star Wars. They are absolutely 100% necessary and if you don't keep them you're an idiot.
