Robert Rodriguez Talks Bruce Willis' Return For SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR

The director also reveals a bit more info about Joseph Gordon-Levitt's character, says he plays a gambler out to beat the biggest villain in Sin City at his own game. We're likely to get casting news on Ava Lord in the coming weeks.

Said Rodriguez, "The only story we've shot is the intro story, that's completely done. The other ones we've just sort of been piecemealing, shooting as the actors become available. All three stories have a little bit of footage to be shot".

"[Jospeh Gordon-Levitt] plays a gambler", says Rodriguez. "A very cocky gambler that comes in and tries to beat the biggest villain in Sin City at his own game. The story is called 'The Long Bad Night', he beats the wrong guy at a game...bad stuff happens to him".

Bruce Willis is back as Hartigan Rodriguez goes on to confirm. There's also a bit of discussion about filming in 3D and if they'll release the first Sin City in that format (they will not).

As far as the actual 'Dame' (Ava Lord) goes, the director says they have some choices in mind but they haven't finalized anything as that character doesn't shoot for a couple of weeks. He also remains coy on who Juno Temple, Ray Liotta and Jeremy Piven are playing. What are the chances that one of these guys is actually playing Agamemnon?

This film is going to be a great example of the benefits of shooting digitally, we can have all these amazing actors in the same film and don't have to worry about schedules. Just shoot them seperately and splice the performances together, I'm surprised more films aren't being made like this. Rodriguez could one day be remembered as a real visionary despite a lot of people thinking he's a hack and all style and no substance. This dude just wants to tell awesome stories with the best talent and technology he can. I love him.

I've not read these books, since the '90s, but isn't Hartigan supposed to be in jail, during the events of A Dame To Kill For?
