So this is spiderman being a douche? Man you guys really need to brush up on your spiderman! This is spiderman humor and you guys calling him a douche is just proof you can't find anything better to critique of this film. Now I'm gonna defend TASM. SM2 has aged terribly and is a poor representation of spider-man the character and is only good in the context of the trilogy, however it is not like TDK( which IMO can't be beaten by any other CBM) SM2 unlike TDK can be beaten in terms of quality. TASM beat SM1 in terms of the orgin and character development. SM1 was better action wise but it rushed the orgin and showed no real problem for Peter other than the villian. TASM showed a Peter with internal struggle and a selfish boy becoming a selfless hero. We skim over that part in SM1, we never see it, only little tidbits in the beginning of the film. Peter is perfect after he dons the suit, he is fully responsible no cracks what so ever, all that's left is a hollow love story with a terrible female lead. TASM offers a diffrent story, a boy who is blessed with powers and is struggling to be a responsible hero and becasue of his irresponsiblity his loved one will die. TASM had more heart and was much more character driven than SM1 and SM2 and it set up this film perfectly. Honestly, almost all the bad reviews this film recived were about it just being another orgin story, no real story problems. The plot holes people talked about ( well the only people were here) were not even real plot holes becasue they were explained throughout the film. This film was fighting a Very steep battle against almost all odds, nothing was going for it. However it manged to become the higest grossing reboot of all time that's why I'm worried maybe MoS might not get to 800,000,000 but Im sure it will. So TASM is off to a very good start indeed, coming off the higest grossing reboot and a very high approval rating from the audience( more so than SM1) means this film is gonna make a lot regardless of quality. SM2 made les than SM1 becasue SM1 did not recive great ratings from the audience unlike SM2 which impacted SM3 sales which is the higest grossing Spidey film
