As I mention in the above petition, since this will be the third reboot of Spider-man in less than 14 years, it's pretty clear that the origin does not need to be repeated. And since the origin hinges around Uncle Ben's death, his role in the movie will be nothing more than a flashback or a small cameo. So there's no need to cast a big name actor in that role, because you have the king of cameos already set to appear in the film!
It may sound ridiculous, but picture this: the entire movie Peter and Aunt May speak fondly of Ben and the impact he had on their day to day lives, and how Peter would not be the man he were today if not for him. It's clear his spirit still lives on and guides everything Peter does, but we never actually get to see him. But at the end of the film, the last line is Peter saying, "It's just like my Uncle always taught me; with great power comes great responsibility". The camera zooms in on a family picture of Peter, Aunt May, and smiling Stan as Uncle Ben! Cut scene, cue the credits.
Pretty cool, right?
Since Stan Lee is Spider-man's father and Spider-man is now back at home in the Marvel universe, it'd be the most meaningful cameo he has had yet and would touch millions of fans across the globe.
So sign the petition and see if Marvel Studios will get on board with this ide
