THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2: Sarah Gadon Dishes On Her Role In the Sequel
Following much speculation, Sarah Gadon has revealed new details about her role in the upcoming sequel to The Amazing Spider-Man, once again denying that she's playing future love interest Mary Jane Watson.
Back in early June, rumors swirled that Sarah Gadon would be replacing Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson in the upcoming sequel to The Amazing Spider-Man. However, those rumors were quickly debunked when Gadon herself revealed, via Twitter, that while she would be appearing in the film, she would NOT be portraying the iconic redhead. A later statement from director Marc Webb himself from corroborated her tale when he revealed that "Sarah makes a number of appearances in the film, in a Hal 9000 way”
Now, in an interview with Toronto Life, Sarah herself elaborated on Marc's comments. In a quick comment on her role, Sarah revealed that “My character is an artificial intelligence officer. She represents the convergence of humanity and technology—it’s very Cronenberg.” What do you think?
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Shailene Woodley, Dane DeHaan, Colm Feore, Paul Giamatti, Chris Cooper, Felicity Jones and Sally Field. The film is set to hit theaters May 2nd, 2014.
