Spidey Villains That Need The Big Screen Treatment

Check out this list of Spidey Villains that deserve a shot at the big screen.

Lets just get right into it.

Lets be frank, no lets be Jman, The Lizard needs to be the next villain in Spider-Man 4. Dylan Baker has played the character of Doc Conners for years now and deserves to be the main villain in Spider-Man 4. Nuff said.

If The Lizard is running rampant all over New York City then that will attract some heavy hitting attention. Hopefully the attention of the worlds most famous game hunter Kraven. I along with legions of other fans would like to see Kraven take a shot at the Lizard with Spidey stuck in the middle.

Mysterio would be the next villain in line to grace the silver screen after The Lizard and Kraven. Bruce Campbell would be the best choice for this role simply because he has played multiple rolls in the past 3 Spidey films. It would just make sense to see Bruce put his head in a bowl and play with a few magic cubes that can create a Danger Room type scenario any where.

Electro is a old school villain but has unlimited possibilities to fit in to this next Spidey flick. Although he is a strong enough villain to show case for a entire film I have a feeling if he is used in Spidey 4 then it will be at the beginning for a cameo.

Spider-Man verses The Scorpion! That just sounds cool. This could be another cameo appearance at the beginning of the 5th film. The Scorpion has been around almost since the beginning of Spider-Man and it would be fitting to see them battle on screen.

Carnage on the other hand deserves a entire film all to his self. All we need is a skinny white psycho path to take the lead and then BOOM we have a great film setting up what should be one of the bloodiest battle scenes we would ever see our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man throw down in.

So there you have it. That is my list of villains that deserve or need to be up next in Spider-Man 4. Did I miss any?

I would love to see Bruce Campbell take a larger role in the Spiderman films. Especially as Mysterio. Most good. Also, I totally agree with the Lizard. With so much time spent setting up the character it is absolutely time for the pay off!

I like both Mysterio and Electro in the comics, However dont know how well they translate to screen. I agree that the Lizard is a must!

No offense, but you’re just a typical Spider-man comic fan. We all know, by now, that Hollywood isn’t about making a "fantasy" film seem like the comics, or better yet, fake. They want the audience to actually believe that the characters in the film could exist.
First of all, I don’t know why everyone is saying that Bruce Campbell would play Mysterio, if the time ever came. He is obviously not going to play him. He’s almost a comedic actor at best, not a guy who we would take seriously. Then there’s Kraven. Ask yourself, would it even make sense if he was in a SPIDER-MAN film? I don’t think so. Spidey films have set up a storyline that involves really strange villains, but Kraven just wouldn’t fit. I mean, a hunter guy battling Spider-Man-cheesy as hell. And then Scorpion; he would actually have a chance to be in there-almost resembles Spider-Man in some ways. Then Electro, pretty cool-would fit. And last but not least, The Lizard and Carnage. Obviously have a greater chance of being in the next movie. They have built up for their storyline in the previous Spidey films. I just think that everybody is forgetting about other characters that are pretty famous in the comics. Shocker and Rhino- they could both be believable. Like their storyline could be, some punks trying to take down Spidey once and for all; Pretty simple, but enough to make fans happy.

James Earl Haley as Cletus Kasady anyone?

Mysterio isn't my favorite but he would be interesting to see on film. Electro is very powerful and it would be someone that you would be a tough person to put up against spiderman. In theory he could just zap spiderman to nothing. His character is as strong as sandman was in the last film and that didn't really work out. The best way to have Electro, is to have maybe Hydroman too, so that spiderman has a way of having them take each other out. Kraven and Lizard has been a thought of mine for a while. I like Campbell for Kraven personally. All you'd have to do is put a mustache and a fu man cho on him. He is the right age for the character. I like "Vulture" but I don't know if you could have an entire film to him. The "Shocker" would be a interesting character. He has the ability to do alot of damage and not kill spidey. He could do and entire movie with himself. Puma would be another interesting character.

I agree Lizard and Mysterio. Spidey would have to deal with brains and brawn, and Cambell would make a perfect Mysterio because, well, Mysterio isnt a villian you can take seriously. He has a fishbowl on his head!

As awesome as the Kraven/ Lizard story line sounds, I doubt the studio execs would go for it. They, of course, want to make this a blockbuster movie with massive, visually stunning effects, climactic end scene where the city is in danger and what have you. Neither Kraven nor Lizard would have these dazzling effects (sure the fight scenes and transformations would be cool, but they lack the explosions execs look for), nor would either be interested in putting the city, or large amounts of people at risk for any reason.

A story driven spidey movie in the lines of Dark Knight featuring Lizard/Kraven would be great, but looking at the past spidey films I doubt it would go that way. Though, Raimi might exert more creative control now, so perhaps its possible...

If Raimi didn't see the point of Venom for the last one, I doubt he has any affinity for Carnage. Give it a rest people.

I mean, I have his first appeareance. I love the character, but seeing what they did to Venom, I think it would be a long time before Carnage is on screen. I hope they wait till they can do him perfectly. I just keep seeing the horrible cape from Spawn, and think that's how he would look now...

Lets go for broke. Rihno, just a short opening scene, taking Rihno out is all I want.

Then move forward with the Sinister 6 set up.

Then add in the Beyonder, since fox is involved, and make 12 more movies.

Tobuttica

I don't know why people like Carnage so much. He's a moronic character and Bendis was right to have him destroyed in New Avengers #2. Lizard is hands down the front runner for me. Electro is 2nd and Kraven. Mysterio has always been too goofy, and after SM3, I'd hope they get away from goofy (jazz dancing anyone) and get back into a real movie. The movie should have a serious tone with Spidey making wise cracks. That's what the book is. He's always in imminent danger, but he can crack a joke. I wouldn't mind seeing Chameleon. Oh yeah, and SM209, Black Cat. Marvel would be smart to do BlackCat before DC does Catwoman.

scorpion and carnage.....
thats about it from that list.

The lizard while cool....well he would just end up being a character to chase...no real story other than finding out who he is.

carnage have a good history that could work...total psycholpath...who just want to watch the world burn...
wait... somebody said that already, lol....

scorpion..well he can be an agent of the King Pin organization... used for high end theft/espionage...but still have that street criminal urges...and instead of fleeing from spiderman...stands and fights...

just an idea...

Rhino's got my vote for an opener...and then kick-it with The Lizard...but keep the love interest at bay, no need!

I agree with the lizard/Kraven Idea. Would love to see an R-Rated Carnage flick with Haley as the main character. I think he's a perfect fit.

Yes no need of the love interest. I want to point out, that in Spider man 3, Doc Connor's has a piece of the symbionite in his lab. It wouldn't be hard to have some way for it to escape and then go to a certain place where BANG!!! Carnage is created. I also believe there are so many Spidey villians it isn't funny. I agree with someone about the Hobgoblin. His indentity for the longest time had all the fans baffled until years later when it was revealed. Old Hobby used to raid the Green Goblin's warehouses anyway and converted all his equipment. What about Madame Web. She would a great ally to Spidey. Cameos. Well, to tie in the rest of the Marvel universe besides mentioning Doctor Strange in Spidey 1, they could have Juggernaut come to town. Spidey has fought him before. He also ties into Madam Web. Read Amazing Spidey's issues 220 through 245 to see what I am talking about. But here is something, I know I am all over the place here with things but I have to get it out before I forget. Bruce campbell as....the Spot. Great villian who was redeemed later on recently. As in the words of the character Roscoe P.ColeTrain "I love it I love I love it!"
Osiris

Lizard is a must they have set him up for 2 movies now by showing the character and he got a name drop in the first movie.

I would like to see Kraven show up to hunt down the Lizard, I don't understand why some of you don't think he could work in the movies he is as strong and almost as quick and agile as spidey is, he couldn't hold his own movie but he if he is in there not as just an enemy of spidey but both him and Lizard, while the lizard is trying to kill Kraven and spidey, it's basically an all out brawl everyone vs everyone except spidey would be trying to save Conners while he was fighting him off.

how does an all out brawl not make a good climatic ending and civilians would be in danger cause the Lizard would be trying to attack ppl passing by as well b/c he doesn't care he is an animal.

also Kraven would work in the movies more then Rhino would unless they used his Ultimate Universe version where he is just a robot w/ a guy inside, but everyone on here hates the Ultimate universe so then I would have to read about ppl complaining about that so i hope they don't go that way.

and no love interest and no carnage until they fix Venom.

and we need Black Cat already bring on the sexy

MarkCassidy - 5/20/2009, 11:59 AM
haha, so funny to read all the anti love interest posts. You would think we were in a schoolyard! "ooh kissing and girls are yucky"

Personally i liked how the lovey stuff is handles by Raimi so i wont mind seeing more of it...maybe calm it down and reign it in a little but it should be there..either with MJ, Gwen or Black cat..or hell why not all 3! Id watch that movie
WeaponX
WeaponX - 5/20/2009, 12:11 PM
Black Cat would be awesome.

For me it goes like this: Opening fight with Rhino, Spidey puts him away. Lizard finally shows up, J.J.J tries to make his own hero to push Spidey out of the game so he uses Conner's genetic bonding process he used to turn into Lizard and creates Scorpion. It makes Scorpion go insane and Spidey has to clean up J.J.J's mess.

Just don't have MJ hanging off something at the end waiting for Spider-Man to save her... that is so tired.

No symbiotes, if a director isn't feeling them they're never going to be done proper. Let it go.

stop with the Carnage comments

Learn from Venom, if Raimi doesn't like Venom he is hardly going to be enthusiastic about Carnage. Raimi is the best man for the job, he should have free reign and not have to pander to the 13 year old Carnage fans, go watch Wolverine.
TheMyth
TheMyth - 5/20/2009, 12:36 PM
Raimi doesn't like the symbiotes so quit begging for them like 7-years olds. Besides, through many years of experience, I've found the jack-off's who think Carnage is so cool are people whose Spidey knowledge is based on cartoons and video games. Carnage is a shitty villain and I couldn't have been happier when Sentry tore him in half like a phone book and hurled him into the sun. Mysterio would translate brilliantly into film medium, even with the fishbowl head. Kraven would only work if in a story circulating the Lizard. Scorpion and Electro have lots of potential.

@Jman1977: I love the Lizard and Mysterio pictures you chose from the 'Inferno'. Awesome story!

WHY NO SHOCKER LOVE?!?

Shocker could be verrrrrrry useful. As comedy relief for his overall crappiness, and as someone to be used as a possible plot tool for further carnage stuff... I mean, Shocker technically isn't shocking, but more like soundwaves. Have him save Spidey from getting impaled by a carnage tendril by a soundwave blast, only to be beheaded by a carnage hand axe.

It would be sad YET hilarious.

BaronBubba - 5/20/2009, 12:53 PM
Actually... Nix the carnage comment. Carnage should remain in the Venom spinoff.
Shadowelfz

Don't get me wrong Osiris, I think a showdown with Lizard would be an awesome climax (especially if Kraven is attacking both of them all-the-while), I'm just saying Hollywood has a tendency to love endings where everything is about to blow up or the villian turns into a gigantic monster and stuff like that. THEY would see Spidey fighting two man-sized villians that dont' blow stuff up as too tame for action movie fans and little kids, know what I mean?

jman1977: I like your choices (I would be happy to see any of them in a Spider-Man film) but disagree about Electro and Scorpion...i think that they could both easily carry a film on their own.

LEEE777: The way I see it is that Spider-Man 6 WILL feature the Sinister Six-the marketing just fits!!!
