Williem Dafoe On Spider-Man 4 Return--"I Think It's Possible."

Williem Dafoe appeared as the original Green Goblin in Spider-Man...but is there room for him in the third sequel?

Everyone who had the opportunity in viewing the Spider-Man franchise up until part three is familiar with actor Williem Dafoe, who portrayed the original Green Goblin that died early in the franchise. MTV News recently encountered the actor and asked whether he could make a return in the coming sequel.

With the manner in which his character was depicted in the most recent spidey film, it comes as no surprise with his response on whether he's returning to the franchise.

"Let's put it this way — no one's called," he said to MTV News during a recent interview.

Fans are expecting two villains to make their debut appearance in the film; The Lizard played by Dylan Baker and Kraven, which seems to be at the top of the list for villains able to keep Spider-Man on his toes. As far as the direction that Sam Raimi will take in the form of villains for the film, that's an entirely different story because although the character of Dr. Curt Connors will make his return, it doesn't necessarily give the green-light on The Lizard appearing whatsoever in the film as the main villain or at all.

Dafoe played Norman Osborn in the film, father to Peter Parker's friend, Harry Osborn...the problem is, with Harry's character somewhat out of the picture when it comes to appearing in the third sequel, where does this leave Norman? Whose thoughts would he now possess? At the end of the day, Dafoe doesn't think reappearing is impossible in "Spider-Man 4."

"I think it's possible but I haven't heard anything," he said.

Whispers68: So, would anyone like his character returning for Spider-Man 4 in one way or another? Or should all forms of his character remain in the past?

Maybe just Norman Osborn, cause Dafoe is a great actor. I definatally don't wanna see GG anymore. He's been in the first 2 movies. Then Harry turned into the second goblin in the third movie.
How about Norman gets back, but he hires somebody to become the Hobgoblin, or something.

If I remember rightly does gg not live on after the glider incident thanks to the oz. I think he should come back but only as a Norman and it could lead to gg return in spidey 5

I really hope that this turns out to be true! I agree with you guys above though - bring back Norman and then the Goblin!

It wold be great for Norman to return and torment Peter by buying the Bugle as he did in the comic books! It would make a much more interesting sub plot in 4 than dancing Peter did in Spider-Man 3!!!

Um...he died. And the only way he could communicate was through harry. harry is dead. I don't think that there is any realistic way for him to come back. At least when he was talking to harry, it's possible that harry was slowly growing insane. A "Resurrection" is way to unbelievable for these films.

this is why the spiderman franchise sucks. it's rami's fault that he killed off every single villian, for it wud be more interesting if they had to go to jail. hell, james cameron's spider-man shud have been the movie. wait thats right. we're getting a film thatll be better then the spidey franchise combined, avatar

spidey needs the reboot just like daredevil

@conner

I did read you're comment dude, and I know what you're talking about. What i'm saying is that the whole "gas healing norman" bit, might come off as a bit cheesy in the films. And besides, he's been gone for a couple of years in the films. Not to mention that having him as the "Mirror Norman", along with him being alive, just might be too confusing for people who aren't familiar with the comics.

IDK about anyone else but I would like to see Rami and co do a Man Spider storyline, for Spider-Man 4. I dont care who's the villains just as long as theirs going to be a good story, like Spider-Man 1, and 2. As long as theirs a good Spider-Man story I'l be happy.

There are other villians in the Spiderman universe other than the GG. I say let sleeping dogs lie. I love Dafoe as much as the next guy but explore the rest of Spidey's universe. C'mon Kingpin, Mysterio, Scorpion, Shocker, Electro, Rhino, Silvermane. Take your pick. Just leave GG alone for the rest of this series.
