After Cartoon Network has suspended the DC Nation programming block for the rest of October, we finally have some good superhero animation news for you. Warner Home Video has officially announced their upcoming slate of animated feature films for the next year, while they also give us details on further upcoming titles. This comes straight from New York Comic-Con 2012.

According to WorldsFinest, the adaptation of Geoff Johns and Gary Frank's comic book Superman: Brainiac will officially be called Superman: Unbound, and will be released in Summer 2013, likely to coincide with Zack Snyder's Man of Steel. The final film of 2013 will be called Justice League: Flashpoint, an adaptation of the summer event Flashpoint which caused DC's New 52 relaunch. It's interesting to note that a few months ago, Kevin Conroy confirmed he had been doing voice work for a "movie about The Flash" called Flashpoint. Bruce Timm also noted that he would like to return to the Beyond (Batman Beyond, Superman Beyond, etc) universe some day, and that Grant Morrison's comic material may be used as influence in future titles.

WorldsFinest also added that Spring 2013 will see the release of the animation feature Lego Batman: DC Heroes Unite, which is based off of the fan-favorite Lego Batman video game franchise. Warner Home Video's Gary Minreau then noted that Justice League: Flashpoint will most likely debut at next year's San Diego Comic Con, and that DC Animated Feature Films will likely continue into 2014 beyond, so that studio closure that was earlier announced was nothing to worry about.

With Warner Animation adapting Flashpoint, would you like to see them adapt films from the New 52 continuity? Sound off with your thoughts below.
