Bradley Cooper Briefly Comments on The Crow

While promoting the DVD release of the underrated Limitless, the actor briefly talks about the status of the remake...

In interviews with heyuguys.co.uk and denofgeek.com the actor admits that recent talk of him playing Eric Draven are premature. Looks like the internet might have jumped the gun on that story. That's unusual.

Based on the negative feedback he has taken on his involvement with The Crow I think it would be best if he didn't pursue this project. On a side note I enjoyed Limitless quite a bit and suggest all of you give it a shot. Added bonus is that Johnny Whitworth, who is playing Blackout in the new Ghost Rider film has a small and pivotal role in it. He is quite good, and I expect him to bring the goods as the boney biker's main villain.

Excerpt from the denofgeek.com article

Moving on to some future projects, how far down the road are you with The Crow at the moment?
I'm not sure where we are with that.

Are you still committed to it?
It was never like that. It was something that got a lot of traction on the Internet, but I'm not sure where that is.

How far down the road are you with the remake of The Crow?
I’m not sure where we are with that. I mean, it makes tracks on the internet but I’m really not sure.

Charlie Hunnam or Joseph Gordon-Levitt all the way

Johnny Whitworth would be great T-Bird or Funboy! He has that Alex DeLarge punk attitude going on!

He doesn't seem like a good fit for the role anyways. I liked Luke Goss for the part, but it seems like the only time he can act is when Del Toro is at the helm.

"The Crow" should be left alone.

I might be in the minority but I actually like Bradley Cooper, especially after "Limitless". But I be damned if he becomes "The Crow".

The only one that I would like to see play this role is Johnny Depp....he's dreamy and every role he touches is gold...is that a pin drop that I hear in the room?

I'm just pulling your leg, guys. I would like to see Cillian Murphy in this role but I think this is one of those movies that need to be left alone.

Wow Northstar... the rare 9 post photo bomb... you either hit post too many times, or you reeeeeeally like that picture.

The Crow is a great flick, but not for the reasons everyone makes it out to be. The acting is COMPLETELY overrated, and yes that includes Brandon Lee's performance. Not a bad perfomrance, mind you, he just has a way of over-enunciating his lines that is very distracting. That being said, The Crow is BY FAR one of the most atmospheric movies ever made. It's a cool looking movie, but that's about it.
Oh, and Hot Topic sort of ruined it too.

I love the Crow, it was such a good stand-alone film , the sequels shouldn't have happened.

And I wouldn't like to see a remake, It was only made in 1994, Could they not wait longer atleast? - they just can't modernise a film like The Crow and make it just as good as the original.

Please don't!

No, no, and no....Cooper will always be that 'funny' cool guy from The Hangover, and that abortion called the A-Team. Almost as sick of him as I am of Ryan Reynolds. But, lucky me, Cooper will probably play The Flash, so I have to sit through that. Enough with the casting of pretty boys that suck at acting. It's like they don't give a sh*t about the movie itself, they just want a face for all the little girls to swoon over, i.e. Green Lantern. F*ck that.

Honestly, depending how good he is at playing Lucifer in Paradise Lost, he could really pull off a dark gritty Nolan-esque Crow.
CherryBomb
CherryBomb - 8/2/2011, 3:22 PM

@Fracture I agree! if anyone, Jackson Rathbone

Jackson is a good actor, he always comes across as pretty 'dark' and add some make up and leather and he will be a good Crow.

What is the point of remaking this film? Seriously, I'd like to know. Brandon Lee got killed making the damn thing. Just leave it alone.

Wait, there is a Crow remake being made? And Bradley Cooper as the role of the title character?

First off, I am sort of interested as to how Bradley Cooper will work out as the character.
Second, do we really need a Crow remake? That would be like remaking Cannibal! The Musical. It is fine the way it is.

Still, where is the news on the Toxic Avenger reboot? I actually want to see how that movie turns out, especially in this age of time.

Look as a guy, I think they should do a "woman-version-of-the-Crow. You know bring in the more "female-side". Plus it could work for a change.
Number1Wolverine
Number1Wolverine - 8/3/2011, 12:36 AM
@Justice - Now a female crow i can get down with, it would be new plus we wouldn't be comaparing Lee with it.

I didn't think of Jackson Rathbone, Taylor Kitsch or
Joseph Gordon-Levitt. But they all would make good crows, but my pick would be Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

ComicBookGoth=Nice job on the picture.

The Crow (both the film and the book) have had a huge impact on my life. Now while I hate the idea of a remake it is nice to know that it has not faded from peoples minds.
