Earlier this week, MovieHole claimed that The Hangover's Bradley Cooper was Warner Bros.' top choice to don the tights of Barry Allen, Aka The Flash, in the planned live-action film. Well, Jim Vejvoda from IGN recently caught up with the actor, where after being notified of the rumor, shortly claimed...

"I've never heard of it"


Unsurprised by Cooper's response, the film is very early in development with the script due this Christmas. But don't have lack of faith in MovieHole's claim, as they only stated Warner Bros. were considering Cooper, and not exactly offering him the role. So one shouldn't expect him to know much about it - that's if hes telling the truth of course.

The script is not even done, so isn't too early to think in actors, but I'm totally on board with the idea of Bradley Cooper as Barry Allen.

I hope he does get to play Barry Allen, he's got the right physique for a runner. Someone else can be Guy Gardner, it's not like Guy would get his own GL trilogy. This has to be our Barry

You'd think The Flash would be pretty easy to cast... but lets just hope the script is more interesting than just 'a guy that runs really fast'.

He's probably never heard of the actual character either, he would make a horrible Flash anyways, theres absolutly nothing BARRY ALLEN about him through and through!

Didn't really think he'd know anything about it. Like you said though, that doesn't mean to studio doesn't have him in mind. While I like others a bit more for the role, I'd certainly be very happy if Cooper got it.

Well, that's a pity. After reading Flash: Rebirth, I found it easy to picture Cooper in the role! I like Matthew Fox but don't really see him as Barry but Patrick Wilson seems like a good fit! :)

I don't like Cooper...and I have no idea why, lol. I don't have any logical justification, he just rubs me the wrong way. Am I insane? I do like most of the other names mentioned (other than Pine, who I have no problem with but just don't see him as BA).

@xenix- um how do you know he never heard of the flash? are you sure he wasn't talking about the rumor about him suggested for the role or that maybe he didnt know they were making a movie? just saying. and it doesnt matter, there are a lot of actors out there who play comic book characters and never read comics until they get the part and have to read them to study the character.

anyways yeah screw matt fox i dont like him at all ever since the show lost i always hated his character and he doest look like any of the flashes anyways. bradley cooper might be able to pull of barry allen but im gonna say i want to see him as guy, hes perfect for guy gardner.

I would have rather had Ryan Raynolds as the Flash but Matthew Fox would be cool to. I think they should get the folks who made the Flash costume for the tv show to make them for the movie.
