POLL: How Do You Feel About Ezra Miller Playing The Big Screen Version Of THE FLASH

When Warner Bros. announced their DC Comics movie slate from 2016 - 2020, perhaps the biggest surprise was the reveal that Ezra Miller (The Perks of Being a Wallflower) had been cast as The Flash in the DC Cinematic Universe. How do you feel about the casting? Let us know here...

The response to Ezra Miller being cast as The Flash has been vocal to say the least. Some fans believe he's completely wrong for the role due to the fact he shares very few similarities with the Barry Allen from the comic books, while others would have preferred to see the small scren Flash (Grant Gustin) get the chance to speed onto the big screen. The casting appeared to come out of nowhere, though Miller's physical similarities to Adam Driver (who was said to be up for the role of Nightwing in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice before picking Star Wars Episode VII) could mean that the actor playing The Fastest Man Alive was being decided on long before we even realised!

Anyone who has seen The Perks of Being a Wallflower or We Need to Talk About Kevin will know that Miller is an incredible actor, and there's no denying that he has the potential to do great things with a character like The Flash. As we said above though, the response to him joining the DC Cinematic Universe in Batman v Superman, Justice League and The Flash has still seen some fans come up with plenty of reasons as to why he's wrong for the role (unfortunately, one of those is in regards to his sexuality, something which has really shown off the ugly side of the mindsets of some fanboys). Anyway, we're now giving you another chance to sound off with your thoughts on Ezra Miller as the Scarlet Speedster with the use of this poll and the comments section below.

Ezra Miller has such unbelievable range. He's shown he can play funny characters (POBAWallflower) and insanely psychotic crazy characters (We need to talk about Kevin)

I have bo doubt he'll be great

I think it's inspired, but I can't judge until the movie is out. Fanboys are going to bitch regardless, so they may as well go with an actor who's proven himself rather than meets physical expectations.

WB is known to make out of the left field choices no one really expects and they completely own that role. WB, Please dont dye Ezra's hair blonde, its not going to look right

@SnapperCarr

The Flash is not who he is because he's a blonde Caucasian man. He is who he is because of his personality, his superpower and his suit.

Not really important. Even comics are innovations unless it sthe first ever comic of the Flash which no one wants bc theyve loved the reinventions over time much more.

Whats important is that Ezra embodies the character and he can easily do just that and will be a show stealer

The guy is pretty talented and I truly believe that his role as Flash will sell him to a lot of fans of the character once they've seen him in full action.

He has talent and maybe the best actor in the DCCU talent wise. He is a method actor and brings with him a presence of optimism everytime he was on-screen in "Perks of Being a Wallflower". He seemed like he has been auditioning for this for a long time because back in November 2013. It was rumored he was auditioning for Nightwing and since Nightwing does not seem to be in this movie, he was probably auditioning for Flash.

There's a billion better actors out there. Why'd they have to go for him?

And I'm scared for the tone of the Flash. I hope they don't make it overly dark and brooding. Flash is all about fun scifi and visuals.

My inner fanboy still objects the casting, but I'm still going to him a chance because he's talented and could really be great. Only time will tell.

At this point, as long as the costumes remain true to source, I couldn't care less who they cast in these roles.

He will be an awesome Flash, I'd take him over some 50 cent TV actor version of Andrew Garfield

I know, and I am going to hold back my judgement, but as of now I am not sold. There's also some pleasure in seeing comic characters in live action appear similar to how they appear on the printed page. But I digress.
