The second season of The Flash has been wrought with mystery and action for Team Flash, and now the hit CW show has a new behind-the-scenes member. Writer Zack Stentz announced on Twitter yesterday that he has joined up as a consulting producer for the show. Stentz wrote the most recent episode, "The Runaway Dinosaur", which was directed by Kevin Smith (Smith has said he will also return to direct another episode in season 3).
Stentz is no stranger to the live-action superhero world; he worked on the screenplays for both X-Men: First Class and Thor, and is currently credited on the upcoming Power Rangers film. "The Runaway Dinosaur" was also hailed as one of the best episodes of the second season, so this should come as great news for fans!
Not much is known about the third season, though producer Andrew Kreisberg told Collider back in January that he'd like to tackle Gorilla City in a future plotline. “I would liken the Gorilla City thing to Ra’s al Ghul. You know, you hear about 'the man from Nanda Parbat' in [Arrow] Season 1, and 'the man who showed Malcolm the way,' and then you met Nyssa, then in Season 3 you met Ra’s. So, it’s a long-term thing.” Teddy Sears (HunterZolomon/Zoom) also promised a massive revelation regarding 'the man in the mask', so it's possible the reveal could play into season 3 as well.
