THE FLASH: Jai Courtney Hopes To See Captain Boomerang Face The Scarlet Speedster In A Solo Movie

Captain Boomerang was apprehended by the Fastest Man Alive in Suicide Squad, and Jai Courtney has now opened up on his hopes to star opposite Ezra Miller in a Flash movie pitting them against each other.

One of Suicide Squad's most memorable moments came when a flashback revealed that it was Barry Allen who apprehended Captain Boomerang. It wasn't much of a fight, but a rematch between the two is something many DC Comics fans would love to see somewhere down the line.

Could that be in The Flash? It's unlikely considering that movie is going to take the Scarlet Speedster on a trip through the Multiverse, but there's really no reason the story couldn't kick off with the Fastest Man Alive once again apprehending the villainous member of Task Force X.

During a recent interview with Screen Rant to talk about his new movie Honest Thief, Kinnaman made it clear that he's keen to share the screen with Ezra Miller's Flash again in the near future.

"I hope so, man. I hope so," the actor said. "People higher up than me make those decisions, but I think the fans would love that. Who knows, man? Who knows the shape of how things are gonna go. I think there's a ton of properties being made, and they're tackling some great success now coming DC's way. I think they're making some really good moves. So, we'll see. That'd be awesome. If it was up to me, I'd have that thing in development already. But we'll see how we go."

This would be fun to see, but Boomerang will have to survive the events of The Suicide Squad first (you can find some exclusive comments on that movie from Michael Rooker by clicking here).

Are you anxious for a rematch between the Flash and this Rogue?

Jai, we’re just hoping to see a Flash movie at this rate...

Flash vs Rogues sounds a lot more exciting for the first Flash film than “Into the Batverse”. Even worse if those Spidey 3 rumors are true
At least Courtney has TSS, which looks [frick]ing awesome.

@tmp3 - i remember when we were glad Sony and marvel kissed and made up. We all guessed multiverse of madness would be the film Spidey would show up in. It was exciting. But we already guessed Sony would see the success of spiderverse and not only that, we wanted to see all 3 versions of Spider-Man.

I don’t see why that’s no longer exciting. I guess we is just me now. #openingnight

I just think it's funny how The Flash has these Batman, street-level villains... That he even occasionally loses to. The Flash's rogue gallery should be like the F4's, where every one of em are potential world destroyers lol.

@KWilly - Seriously, for a person who has superspeed and can literally turn back time, his nemesis is going to be an ordinary thug? How is that a fair fight.

Remember how everyone was pissed off that Man of Steel 2 was basically turning into a Batman movie with added Wonder Woman, Flash and even cameos from Cyborg and Aquaman?

Then they called it Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice and we all went "Oh okay. It's not Man of Steel 2 after all".

This movie is not The Flash. It's Flashpoint. It's as much a Batman movie as it is a Flash movie, with a heavy sprinkling of Justice League members and other DC elements that we've yet to hear about.

Call it:

The Flash / Batman - Flashpoint.

@GwenLantern - Spider-Man and Iron Man-Homecoming. I get what you are saying and definitely have a beef about no MoS 2 and Cavill’s Superman not getting more focus, we won’t know about this one until we know more. I would prefer more of a Flash solo movie, but RDJ only was in about 15 minutes of Homecoming, so we will see.

Joel Kinneman didn't play Boomerang, Jai Courtney did.
