THE FLASH Meets The Former Flash (John Wesley Shipp) In One Of Three New Stills

We've seen a lot of images and footage from the pilot episode of The Flash, but now some new stills have found their way online featuring the Scarlet Speedster in action and a scene between a fully suited up Barry Allen and the man who used to play the character in the 90s series...

After a particle accelerator causes a freak storm, CSI Investigator Barry Allen is struck by lightning and falls into a coma. Months later he awakens with the power of super speed, granting him the ability to move through Central City like an unseen guardian angel. Though initially excited by his newfound powers, Barry is shocked to discover he is not the only “meta-human” who was created in the wake of the accelerator explosion — and not everyone is using their new powers for good. Barry partners with S.T.A.R. Labs and dedicates his life to protect the innocent. For now, only a few close friends and associates know that Barry is literally the fastest man alive, but it won’t be long before the world learns what Barry Allen has become…The Flash.

Well, that's going to be an interesting meeting! Will The Flash break his father out of prison? Starring Grant Gustin as Barry Allen, The Flash will premiere on October 7th! The pilot was well-received after being shown at this year's San Diego Comic-Con (as well as by fans who managed to get their hands on a leaked copy a little while before that), and with Captain Cold, Firestorm and more all coming to Central City, this one will be well worth keeping an eye on!

Hmm.

Considered nitpicky but the more I see the cowl the more it doesn't sit right with me. It's either Gustin's head, body (bigger/smaller than the other) or the design itself.

@Kurne It's probably the head. It looks strangely abnormal, similar to Ravager's costume in Arrow.

wish the costume had more bright red on it

I can't wait to see him and Oliver fight each other. That's gonna be BAD ASS.

@BenderBendingRodriguez The costume is just the first iteration. The reasoning behind him wearing it and what it was originally used for are established in the pilot. It makes a lot more sense than him just suddenly having a costume on.

Did they finish his new costume yet? Shouldn't they show him in that costume instead of this one to hype us up when he gets that costume?

I would like a better costume for The Flash.

If it would have been a film then sure The Flash would be getting a much more sophisticated costume.

The only one that feels good about this costume is the actor, wich do not need to suffer in tight leather, or a body armour. I hope they change through the season.

I never had a chance to watch the 90's Flash TV series, but that last pic is pretty awesome.

Enjoy the article while it lasts before Netman posts his overly long ramble of an "article" about how much the show is raping the Flash.

the only thing that bugs me is how far back the mouth opening goes. it shows too much of his cheek, should bring it in closer. the suit looks pretty good in motion otherwise

Hello! Saw the pilot it was awesome. A lot of references to upcoming characters such as Gorilla Grodd and Zoom. The costumes explanation and usage was great as well. I think they have a definite hit here.

@typcalfanboy

I don't know if you're joking or not, but the 90s Flash is playing Barry's dad. There's nothing else to it (so far).

I personally think every element of this show looks wrong, so I hope it doesn't succeed. This is not the Flash fans deserve. The old show was closer to the mark ven with the campiness. WB went back to casting teeny bopper dramas with this one.

The costume looks ridiculous. The Olympics were just on and there were a hundred different kinds of form fitting suits on display that could've been adapted for Flash.

They should have had him play Jay Garrick instead of Flash's dad.

What? Barry meets up with his dad in costume? Does this mean his dad knows he's the Flash?!? (Or are the seriously going to suggest that his mask can protect his identity from his own father?)

I cannot wait to see this show!

The color of the suit is god awful...make it fvcking red asshole designers.

Its burgundy,wine,maroon,etc...it's NOT the correct shade of red.
Flash is NOT a stealthy character. There is NO reason to have a darker tone.

A bright bold red with sharp brilliant yellow accents is perfect coloring & he's called The Flash due to speed AND flashy colors!
Hope the show is good because the suit is just not right.

Holy shit, that IS the guy from the original series...

I'm hoping this show is good. I just cannot stand Arrow, but hopefully this show will have a different vibe.

We'll see.
