THE FLASH

SEASON 1 - PILOT

I have found myself in possibly the most fortunate of positions of viewing the PILOT episode of CW's new show "The Flash", and I'll say it now. It is the best piece of television I have viewed in a long LONG time. Like their other show Arrow, CW do not waste time with pointless origin crap. The story takes almost no time to get into, and from the first five minutes I was glued to my seat. Now from what I know of The Flash comicbook series, the show is accurate...at least to a certain degree that won't have every Flash Fanboy ripping their hair out. Anyway, without giving any of the plot away I will just say that it is obvious CW have big plans for this show, and that we may be seeing a few cameo's of our favourite hooded friend, Oliver Queen. It seems that they are sticking with Barry Allen's comicbook origin, and possible if I am not mistaken the way his Mother was murdered.

Grant Gustin is seemingly perfect for the role of Barry Allen...but I won't lie he is the only character I know anything about for obvious reasons...the fact that he is the Flash. But Flash is not alone in his vigilante activities...he has his own team, and no it isn't the Justice League. I am looking forward to the show's official release and can not wait to binge off of every season that will follow. One last thing to finish off this review, well more like News Update...anyway this show really is amazing, let's just hope it doesn't get cancelled.

A DC TV series that is not MARVEL

Anyways, i watched the pilot today, it was a really good origin story.
But i think CW has a problem making the "love interest" character.
With Iris, Laurel and Lana they made a trinity of people you hope that's the next supervillain's victim.

In respect to Smallville, as much as we hated Lana, we always knew, with great comfort, she would never end up with Clark. The former two are written in stone pretty much as being the final love interest of their respected counterparts.

@JillyMcBeam: I know that. Is just don't enjoy their Tv counterpart.
Remember when the rumor of a person that was about to die on Arrow and everyone was "Please be Laurel"?

This should be taken down since the embargo hasn't been lifted. I'm sure this website is in enough deep shit for posting the leaked episode.

"It is the best piece of television I have viewed in a long LONG time."
Clearly this assshole has not watched Breaking Bad, The Wire, The Sopranos. Hell lets movie past the dramas and dive into action - Person of Interest. I can go on and on. Even shows that are on right now - The americans, Fargo, Walking dead, etc etc etc.

In terms of quantifiable quality, CW shows are ranked below every piece of tv series out there. In terms of simple fanboygasm, yeah CW shows like arrow and supernatural are high up on top lists.

I watched it twice & enjoyed it even more the second time around. It felt a bit rushed, but that's not a problem for me because it's a tv series which will leave room for development. I do hope it doesn't follow Smallville's villain of the week format. And just as what Arrow did to hold my interest, the cliff hanger at the end... Wow!

Good review GEEK BLAST. Thanks for giving us your review. I'm a huge Flash fan (both physically and figuratively) and I can't wait to see the show. I wish I could buy the show on blu-ray already. I wasn't able to see the pilot but the reviews for it have been mostly positive.
I agree withmegabatfan. I hope Flash avoids the villain of the week set-up too. I hate how Smallville just threw away some really great DC characters.

FYI, the reason my review states "not MARVEL" is because I have been reviewing television programmes and comicbooks for a while now but usually only Marvel. The statement was more to my usual readers rather than new readers. Sorry if that caused any confusion or seemed antagonistic in any way towards you oh so intelligent people. I will take on your not so constructive criticism and try and make my next post a lot more informative and obviously I will use better English seeing as you guys did not respond to my writing style in a positive way.
