It Seems AVENGERS: ENDGAME Featured An Incredibly Subtle Beta Ray Bill Easter Egg That No One Noticed

Over the course of the MCU's 11-year existence, Marvel has sprinkled in a number of references to the powerful Korbinite warrior Beta Ray Bill, which makes us wonder when/if he'll actually debut...

As the script for Avengers; Endgame is further dissected, fans have discovered a surprising reference to the original Stormbreaker owner (in the comics), Beta Ray Bill.  It seems the scene featuring younger versions of Gamora and Nebula fighting mysterious warriors could lead to something bigger, because the script has revealed that those mechanized/armor-clad gun-wielders are actually Korbinites - Beta Ray Bill's species!  In the comics, the Korbinites were wiped out (except for Bill) by Surtur, but it seems the MCU will have Thanos' forces be responsible for the dastardly deed.

If you recall, Bill was previously referenced in Thor: Ragnarok as The Grandmaster's tower featured the visage of past Coliseum champions on its facade, and among them was the unmistakable "grin" of Beta Ray Bill. In fact, Kevin Feige stated that plans for the film actually called for Beta Ray to appear at one point before they were ultimately scrapped.  "There was a Beta Ray Bill, but it was so quick that you would have the same complaints that you have now," said Feige back in 2017.

Feige went on to add, "He was in it a little bit more and it just didn’t do justice. And the feeling is, if you can’t do it justice, do it later."  There's also the fact that Thor's new hammer/ax Stormbreaker was originally commissioned by Odin for Bill after he proved himself a noble warrior during a fight to the death with Thor. If Marvel Studios is truly sowing the seeds for Bill's debut, do you think he'll turn up in the next Guardians film - possibly seeking revenge against Gamora and Nebula? Or perhaps he'll show up in Thor: Love and Thunder as a potential romantic interest for Valkyrie? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.

@WakandanQueen - I've read rumors he could show up in Guardians of the Galaxy 3. And that would actually match up with the new future version of the team we just met in the Old Man Quill comics.

@WakandanQueen - "as a potential romantic interest for Valkyrie"... well that will be interesting to say the least?

I can't imagine it would go down too well in the UK these days to name your alien species the "Korbinites"! I think far too many people would see it as a dig against the Corbynite wing of the Labour Party.

@528491 - 2 years from now this comes out though. We'll have forgotten about Corbyn by then.

Didn't we see some Korbinites in the second Thor film fighting against Malekith? Or was that just in the concept art?

Wasn't the chitauris' look in first Avengers movie partly based on Beta-Ray Bill. Since nobody actually new back in 2012 what chitauris' true forms look like in the comics.

Beta Ray Bill is probably my favorite obscure Marvel character and definetly one of the most underrated ones. It would be cool to see him in MCU, but I'm not sure there's really room or point for him (Vision and Cap stole from him the "someone else than Thor lifting Mjolnir?!" suprise, Surtur probably isn't returning and Thor has the Stormbreaker) and I don't want to see Taika's take on him (you know that he would make him an one-note comic-relief, like he did with Korg and Skurge, and go for the overused/easy horse jokes).

@FinnishDude - a lot of people really like the depth that was given to thor between Ragnarok, IW and EG. He was cocky as hell going into Ragnarok and really had his world stole from him by the end. He, by far, has had the most dynamic arc between those three movies... more so than any other character in their respective movies.

@JonC - Thor's arc was great solely thanks to the Russos, who did they best to ignore or fix as much as Taika's influence/ideas as possible. Taika made a silly comedy, where Thor was acting like a meathead the entire running time, which would have been fine, if the movie wasn't a story where Thor loses everything and an adaption of one of the best Thor stories.

Maybe they should have actually made him look like a Korbinite then? There's really no point in saying he is one when he looks nothing like their species. Since when did Korbinite's dress like Iron Man and wield giant guns? If so, send me a source.

I'm kind of embarrassed how disappointed I'm going to be if we don't get Bill on the big screen. I don't know why but he's always been one of my all-time favorite characters.

Admittedly, I don’t know much about Beta Ray Bill, so I would love the movies to explore him. I love how the MCU’s made me discover amazing characters I never would have known if it weren’t for them.

I've said it before and I'll say it again:

Motion cap with Will Arnett doing the voice.

Bill, Balder, Angela, Amora, Ulik, and a returning Sif deserve scenes if not honorable mention in L&T
