I wonder if they FINALLY got the balls to criticize a crappy MCU movie or it's more like they literally had no choice but to bash this piece of trash just to keep little bit of their dignity and credibility. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Still haven’t seen this. Maybe this weekend. I wonder if my incredibly low expectations from all the negative reviews I’ve heard will lead me to appreciate it more or not. I tend to dislike cringey juvenile humor so I’m expecting that it probably won’t be my jam. On the other hand, my wife survived cancer last year so I’m hoping that the Jane story resonates. We will see.

At this point in JW’s top 5 whatever articles writing career Josh should start using the phrase “having an issue quantity over quality“ for his own work.
Here’s a request, “Top 5 times Josh Wilding was completely wrong about everything” there’s a plethora of articles to choose from.

Wonder if Disney/Marvel is happy with the box office? By giving this film a 250 mil budget they must have expected a minimum of 800 - 1 billion dollar gross. It fell short at 758 mil which is probably just a bit above break even point for them.

@mastakilla39 - I heard Taika is gone? If that's true and no just an idle rumour then that would suggest they aren't happy

Very unfunny jokes...s
A bad written story
An underused good villain/actor (Bale)
Very boring characters
Glad i didnt pay for that poop.

Taika Waititi doing the next StarWars movie... now i know i really need to put my expectation to ''very very very low''.

I lowered expectations after reading all the criticism and was honestly pleasantly surprised. It was no Ragnarok, but aside from cheap looking vfx, some jokes that definitely didn’t land, I thought it was an interesting small scale Thor story. Korg overload as well, yes. But the way the movie handled Jane’s Thor was the opposite of what I thought they would do and I thought it was stronger for it.

Hercules, miscast of the decade

@SpideyPuffsMJ - Miscast of the decade is a bit dramatic. We saw barely five seconds of him in a post credit scene.

“Marvel maybe developing a quantity over quality issue” … yea like the past 5 years

I watched it this past weekend. It felt like some of the What We Do In The Shadows energy bled over and not in a good way. I think Taika is a very capable director, but I also think he needs to be checked at some decisions. I can see Marvel tightening up a little after the reception to this round.

Also, Bale felt wasted after that hard opening.

To me, this movie is the Iron Man 2 of the Thor franchise. It has all the ingredients that made the first one (Ragnarok) great but the ratios are all out of wack and it fails to focus on a story worth telling, becoming a big mess.

Christian bale came back out of retirement from superhero films to make this film😕.....

My god🥲

Aside from the disrespect towards Family Guy by comparing it with such atrocity of film, their review is pretty much what people here said about the movie a few months ago.

What a piece of shit movie. What a waste. All they had to to was adapt the story line from the comics and it would have been epic. A young, present and future Thor would have been so cool.

sadly, this movie is (in my opinion) marvel studio's first absolute failure.

hopefully, they learn to place a little more constraint on their directors in the future.
while i love taika's humor, he needs to learn when he's exceeded the limit.

Really?

The film was not good but worse than Thor 2 and ironman 2?

Come on😕

@AmazingFILMporg -

yup (my opinion)
WORST of the lot.
and i usually find a reason to enjoy all cbm's, but this was atrocious.
thor 2 & iron man 2 both have a place in my collection, but i wouldn't watch this again if you paid me.

thor was NOTHING but a joke, and gorr was nowhere as impressive as he should have been.

yes, their ABSOLUTE worst.

The movie felt like a SNL skit. The movie was absolutely terrible and made me lose a lost of interest in the MCU... I think I'll stick with the comics.

I hope Feige realises how badly he f***ed up.
