GEN V: Check Out The Blood-Drenched First Trailer For Prime Video's THE BOYS Spin-Off GEN V: Check Out The Blood-Drenched First Trailer For Prime Video's THE BOYS Spin-Off

Gen V, a spin-off of Prime Video's The Boys adaptation, is set to premiere this September, and the streamer has finally released a full trailer for the show. Be warned, things get gory!

"There are dangerous, evil people at that school!”

After a few teasing glimpses were shared in Prime Video's "coming soon" previews, the streamer has finally released a full trailer for its upcoming The Boys spin-off, Gen V.

The promo introduces protagonist Marie Moreau (Jaz Sinclair) and her classmates, as they attempt to adapt to life in the prestigious Godalkin University, which trains young Supes and teaches them to harness/control their abilities.

Unfortunately, the campus seems to be far from the "safe space" it's been sold as.

The trailer censors an F-bomb (and even the word "dick"), but has no problem showing a guy punch through someone's chest and shove his fist up through his mouth. So, be wary of a lot of blood and gore... but at least your ears will be spared a bit of profanity!

Check out the bloody first footage below, and let us know what you think in the comments.

In Gen V, the students at Godolkin will be "put their physical and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the school’s highly coveted top ranking. They quickly come to learn that ambition comes with sacrifice, and the difference between right and wrong is not as clear as they once believed. When the university’s dark secrets come to light, the students must come to grips with what type of heroes they are going to become.”

Gen V also stars Shelley Conn, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sean Patrick Thomas and Marco Pigossi. The series guest stars Clancy Brown and Jason Ritter, while Jessie T. Usher, Claudia Doumit, Colby Minifie, and P.J. Byrne will reprise their roles from The Boys.

Looks like a raunchier The Gifted.
Vigor - 7/24/2023, 12:39 PM
I like the fact that a lot of the original cast is in this
Ryos - 7/24/2023, 1:54 PM
@Vigor - meh that makes it look cheap AF to me
Vigor - 7/24/2023, 2:17 PM
@Ryos - uh how so
Amaru - 7/24/2023, 2:27 PM
@Vigor - He's just talking out of his ass. Ignore him.
supermanrex - 7/24/2023, 3:35 PM
@Vigor - this site has insane asinine hot takes my dude. enjoy trying to reason with that dumbass comment.
Vigor - 7/24/2023, 3:44 PM
@supermanrex - I try to give everyone a chance haha
Origame - 7/24/2023, 5:54 PM
@Ryos - if anything the lack of original cast members makes it look cheap AF! You do know they have to pay more to get those guys in, right?

Meanwhile the main cast is a bunch of no names.
GhostDog - 7/24/2023, 12:44 PM
Eh.
NGFB - 7/24/2023, 12:48 PM
Love it. The superhero genre needs more hard core blood and guts and profanity and sex in order to survive.
ClintThaHamster - 7/24/2023, 12:52 PM
It's so bizarre to me that a trailer that depicts a person punching their fist through the back of another person's head also has PG-13 swear words edited out. America's particular brand of puritanism is so [frick]ed.

I enjoyed the first couple seasons of The Boys just as much as the next guy, but it’s weird that a show whose point is to mock the corporatization of superheroes in pop culture is now releasing spin-offs, animated series, and merchandise that nobody really asked for.
CerealKiller1 - 7/24/2023, 2:05 PM
@santoanderson - I mean, it was a comic first, so the show itself was already a ‘spin-off’. Pretty sure a lot of people are asking for this
TheLobster - 7/24/2023, 12:56 PM
I liked the first teaser more but either way I’m excited for this. Hopefully it’s great and can hold everyone over til Boys S4 comes out which definitely won’t be til next year at earliest (thanks to greedy ass studios not settling for what’s fair) ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
TheVisionary25 - 7/24/2023, 1:01 PM
Looks alright imo.

Not too interested in it but I’ll give it a watch…

Especially since the showrunners are Tara Butters and Michele Fazekas whose work I have enjoyed to various extents such as Agent Carter , Reaper etc.

Looks to be on pair with the Boys. Hope the story arc is good. I’ll be checking it out.
The only thing missing is the lovely charm of Butcher and Homelander.

Its giving me Rated R Sky High vibes....I love it!
Matador - 7/24/2023, 1:55 PM
Reminds me of The Order wish they had a season 3 though.

Forthas - 7/24/2023, 2:34 PM
THIS is the IP directors like James Gunn, Josh Ruben, and Tommy Wirkola should be heading up! This kind of dark comedy is right up their alley!
TheNewYorker - 7/24/2023, 3:25 PM
This will be aggravating to watch, but I’ll watch. Damn kids 😒
AnthonyVonGeek - 7/24/2023, 3:28 PM
More hero gore porn. Not complaining…
Although this trailer was kinda “meh” to me I will still watch it.
JobinJ - 7/24/2023, 3:41 PM
First Trailer? The first trailer has been out for months.
JobinJ - 7/24/2023, 3:44 PM
Meh. More gore porn and no actual hero’s. Like actual good people.
2013venjix - 7/24/2023, 6:57 PM
An R-rated Sky High.
connorblaze - 7/25/2023, 5:29 AM
I adore the original show but not a single thing here looked interesting. The core cast looks very, very bland. Yawn.
NinnesMBC - 7/26/2023, 1:55 AM
Looks ok, maybe I'll check it out. I remember Jazz Sinclair and Chance Perdomo from Chilling Adventures of Sabrina so maybe for them I will watch it.
