AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. Loses A Third Of Its Audience In Second Week, But Is Still Going Strong
After a huge premiere, Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s second episode lost over 30% of the viewers who tuned in for the Joss Whedon helmed pilot episode. However, while the numbers are still far from bad, it may be a little concerning that so many people have jumped ship so soon!
Despite a cameo from Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury, Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. slipped a considerable 34% from its huge premiere last week. With a 3.1 rating in the key 18 - 49 demo, that's a considerable drop from the pilot episode's 4.7. These are still good numbers for the series which takes place after the events of The Avengers, but it's clear that a sizeable portion of the audience weren't completely sold on the Joss Whedon helmed debut (the show was also down by 30% in terms of total viewers). In comparison, The Blacklist - which was this Fall's highest rated premiere until Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. came along - debuted with 3.8, but still had 3.6 this past Monday.
