While speaking briefly with CBR Chloe Bennet promises that Season 2 will be getting darker.

CBR : "You're back at work, in the thick of the new season. How's it going?"

CHLOE BENNET: It's going, man! We are full swing in Season 2, and it's a darker season. I think there's a lot more surprises coming and Skye's in search of her parents -- Kyle [MacLachlan] got cast as my father! And we have a lot of new characters this season, so fans are going to be very, very excited because it doesn't disappoint.

Bennet also touches upon how Skye has changed both physically and mentally from when we last seen her at the end of Season 1

CBR: "What's been fun and different for you about Season 2?"

CHLOE BENNET: After the end of [Season1] and HYDRA, Skye's definitely been through a lot more. She's been training with May -- not only physically, but mentally, she's in a whole 'nother place, and she's grown. She's a lot more mature. She's still got that smartass core, but she's much more mature and more grounded this season, and a lot darker. She's in pursuit of finding out who she is and what she is and who her parents are and what they've done and the truth about her family and why Coulson was carving weird stuff at the end of the season. So, we'll find out!

So long as they don't lose the sharp humour from Coulson, I don't mind them toning things a litle different this season. There were some camp elements last season that missed the mark, and it'll be great to have that not happen.

[frick], why is it not 8 o'clock yet?!?

No she meant they have more than two black characters on the show that are not evil, so that is what she meant by darker!

Bland? Google dry humour, and Clark Greeg's humour will make perfect sense. He does deadpan comedy as well as anyone on tv.

No, I didn't watch Gotham. I have no plan to, it doesn't interest me at all. So, if you see me on a Gotham thread, know that I won't speak to the quality of the show anymore, as I'm now behind and don't know what it's like.
