Hawkeye was
one of many announcements made during the Marvel Studios panel at San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday and while the logo was shared online from the official Marvel Studios social media channel, it was star Jeremy Renner who shared with fans the actual reveal animtation.
The animation opens with a series of targets and arrows before a silhouette of Renner's Clint Barton (Hawkeye/Ronin) appears. He then flies off screen and a silhouette of his soon-to-be protegee, Kate Bishop, appears, much to the fans' delight. Then the logo appears.
With so many announcements to be made, Kevin Feige nor Jeremy Renner spent just a quick few minutes talking about the upcoming Disney+ series. While plot details weren't shared, Renner did share excitement for exploring a new side of Clint Barton.
"What I get to do in the show ultimately is shepherd an amazing character, ultimately a better version of me and the sentiment of that is the fiber of what Hawkeye is, at least what I think Hawkeye is — a superhero without superpowers and I get to teach someone else to be a superhero without super powers.”
That better version of himself, of course, will be none other than Kate Bishop, a fan-favorite who figures to become a prominent character in the MCU. Marvel has not yet announced who will be playing Kate Bishop in the series.
Hawkeye is set to premiere exclusively on Disney+ in fall 2021.
