LOKI Featured Some Insane Easter Eggs And A Crazy Cameo Fans Of The Comic Books Will Love - SPOILERS

Today's penultimate episode of Loki certainly wasn't holding back, but there was one batsh*t crazy cameo - and one hilarious Easter Eggs - we definitely need to talk about. Read on for details...

Loki truly is the craziest story Marvel Studios has ever told, and today's wacky episode featured some delightful Easter Eggs for comic book fans.

We're going to bring you a full breakdown a little later today (there was a lot of them), but one, in particular, has got fans on social media losing their minds. No, your eyes did not deceive you; the Thanos Copter really did just make its Marvel Cinematic Universe debut, effectively making it canon!

In the comic books, the Mad Titan piloted this personalised helicopter in an effort to retrieve the Cosmic Cube from Hellcat, and it's a moment that has since been parodied and referenced on multiple occasions. However, seeing it in live-action is definitely an unexpected treat for fans, and we just wish Josh Brolin's Thanos had been shown piloting it through The Void!

An even bigger talking point in today's episode of Loki, however, was the debut of Throg!

In a blink-and-you'd-miss-it cameo, the Frog of Thunder could be seen trapped in a jar, just inches away from his beloved Mjolnir. This is probably it for him now, but it feels like the door might be open to these Variant versions of Loki returning in the not too distant future.

Check out these insane Easter Eggs below:

The best of the episode is Lokigator, Thor frog and the great power of E Grant's Loki. It was great that moment when he created the biggest distraction. The glorious Asgard.

@lemric - I caught Throg, but I couldn't see him very well, didn't know what he looked like, so I thought it was a very small Thor trapped in some bottle-like container.

Needless to say, I was very confused.

I completely missed Throg and for some reason it didn't register in my mind that the helicopter had "THANOS" written on it in massive lettering 😂😂😂

I saw Throg but didn't see Thanos copter. I did see Ronan's ship though.

I'm surprised nobody us talking about the delapitated Star Destroyer in the background of one shot. First time anything Star Wars related has appeared in the MCU aside from references and jokes.

@ElricReturns - You're right, just spotted it, just before Ronan's ship.

@jj2112 - Just checked it again. If the scene you say is before Ronan's ship, I have no doubt that that's a helicarrier

@surfaris - It's the scene in which the headless peacock is climbing a root, it's pretty hard to see but it looks triangular to me.

@jj2112 - yeah it’s a helicarrier. Still a nice catch though.

There was a Polybius arcade cabinet in the hideout, pretty obscure gaming reference. Ronan's ship made an appearance, as well as the Eldridge from the Philadelphia experiment.

@Spidey91 - And was that Hogwart's at the end? I'm not too familiar with it.

@jj2112 - it reminded me of Hitler's castle, but that's probably not it either
jj2112
jj2112 - 7/7/2021, 1:11 PM
@bkmeijer - Oh, maybe it's Neuschwanstein, which served as Walt Disney’s inspiration for Sleeping Beauty’s castle.
bkmeijer2
bkmeijer2 - 7/7/2021, 2:50 PM
@jj2112 - thats the one I think I also mean (I know its not Hitler's but I believe he did want to make it a museum for all stolen Nazi art stored there).

Anyway, could very well be that castle in The Void. We already saw the lighthouse of Alexandria and the Sphinx, so I don't exclude more historical locations prominently featured.

@bkmeijer - Right, I believe it appeared in Monuments Men too.
bkmeijer2
bkmeijer2 - 7/8/2021, 2:42 PM
@jj2112 - yeah it did. I do vagiely remember Matt Damon and George Clooney, but otherwise a very forgettable movie though.

Now that there's a Thanoscopter, I like to believe there is a timeline out there where Thanos got arrested by the NYC police.
Deklipz
Deklipz - 7/7/2021, 1:36 PM
@bkmeijer - Pretty sure there's a live action 616 that we'll see at some point. Likely in small bites but complete with comic accurate and styled costumes.
bkmeijer2
bkmeijer2 - 7/7/2021, 2:53 PM
@Deklipz - that would be fun. Although I also kinda want that to be actual animation with the comic looks
JayBarrick
JayBarrick - 7/7/2021, 5:01 PM
@Deklipz - Richard E. Grant was the tip. I wish.
generictheeric
generictheeric - 7/7/2021, 6:11 PM
@Deklipz @bkmeijer - Perhaps it's already canon. Thanos' double-sided blade from Endgame was supposedly inspired by the Thanoscopter after all...

Deklipz
Deklipz - 7/15/2021, 10:57 AM
@bkmeijer - I’d rather the comics or any animated stuff be an interpretation of a live universe. Having an actual cartoon/comic universe interacting with what we have established would be where I stopped watching.
bkmeijer2
bkmeijer2 - 7/15/2021, 11:53 AM
@Deklipz - yeah same. An animated movie can mesh styles, but that's just gonna Space Jam weird in live-action
Deklipz
Deklipz - 7/16/2021, 8:14 AM
@bkmeijer - yep, there’s a reason that shit hasn’t worked since roger rabbit. To do it right you have to go all in and to see what’s established already turn into some weird RR/space jam bs would kill it.
bkmeijer2
bkmeijer2 - 7/16/2021, 10:28 AM
@Deklipz - its probably gonna be end up feeling like a gimmick or a distraction is my guess
