RUMOR: Is A MARVEL LAND Coming Soon To Disneyland?

Following the launch of the new Guardians of the Galaxy ride in California Adventure, it seems Marvel has a new foothold: a park all its own. It seems like Mission Breakout was just the start!

Earlier this summer, Disney officially launched the Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout ride, a retheming of the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror in Disney's California Adventure Park, which heavily drew from the MCU incarnations, not only featuring several props from the MCU in the lobby (ranging from Coulson's gun in the Avengers, an Ultron drone, Terrigen Crystals, and even a cryptic tease of Namor), to the actual cast of the movie reprising their roles as part of the attraction, in particular Benicio Del Toro as The Collector and Bradley Cooper as Rocket Raccoon.

Well, apparently, that's not all Marvel has to the park. Upon the launch of the ride, passerbys noticed a particular object just outside of Mission Breakout, that seemed to tease even more of what could be coming next for the park: a large hatch, adorned with the Avengers logo. Disney crew members (dressed as S.H.I.E.L.D agents) also were seen cordoning off the area in hazmat costumes, presumably to draw attention to the site of the hatch.

In addition, rumors of Mission Breakout surfaced far before its official announcement, even as early as April 2016. However, along with the rumors of the Guardians attraction was another rumor: a Captain America-themed launch coaster. Other reports go on to say that an entire Marvel Land is under development, with some saying it will be situated between Hollywood Land and Bugs Land (which is where Mission Breakout and the hatch are currently located).

From the sounds of it, at the very least it seems Marvel will have an area all to itself in the famed park. It also leads one to wonder if these other potential rides will be as themed to the MCU as the new Guardians of the Galaxy ride is. It does appear to be an interesting development to say the least.

What do you think of the potential attractions that a Marvel-themed area of the park could bring? What type of rides or attractions would you want to see? Should it be connected to the film side like Mission Breakout is, or should it be its own thing entirely without influence from the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Leave your thoughts below!

I hope a future theme ride will be a Namor one. I'd make it a water ride and when on it you are travelling in an underwater aquarium.

This way you could have live fish all around you and throw in some sharks too, then at the end you come out a waterfall.

I really hope Namor will be added to the Disney park, because then you know he'll be getting a movie soon.

@BlackIceJoe - I wish he was going to be in the MCU. When he is written well, he can be interesting.

Maybe if Marvel gets the rights back to the F4, they could introduce him in one of those movies as a villain/antihero. I'm not certain though if he warrents his own film first.

Yeah, that's going to suck. To many people in that park already and this would just add more, I've been 3 times and have no desire to go back as the whole experience is ruined by the hordes of people.

I have always thought this would be an amazing idea but pretty sure Universal Parks have the rights to most of the Avengers and Spiderman for sure....

Rides I'd love to see:
Hulk Rollercoaster
Iron Man flying ride (soaring over ca style)
Namor water ride
Spiderman Bungie jumping/swing
Live Marvel shows obviously
