A Major Character on Heroes Will Die

A Major Character on Heroes Will Die

It seems one of the main characters will meet his/her end this season in Heroes!

The series has been in a decline in ratings since its premiere. The first season held 13.86 million U.S. viewers in 2006-2007, but the third season fell to a mere 7.61 million.

Several additions as well as removals have been made to characters since the first season. With the most recent episode of having Claire Bennett in a girl-on-girl kiss with Gretchen in order to boost ratings, the step wasn't a successful one. Season 4 is only pulling roughly 5.6 million U.S. viewers, and that's not good news for the show.

NBC and the writers are now forced, it seems, to make drastic changes. This involves one of the main characters coming to an end this season. The character has not been revealed by NBC but certain hints have been.

The character is male in the picture below. He may be present or he may not be, but the character is definitely from the original cast.

Whispers68: If this is true and the character is a male from the original cast, I feel it may be Sylar since he is onto bigger and better things("Star Trek"). But this can be a ploy to take attention away from Hiro Nakamura, who has been facing an illness since last season and is said to be dying from time traveling without fully understanding the consequences. Nathan Petrelli has been "killed," but the situation he and Sylar have been entangled in is weird. Mohinder Suresh has been missing from the current season, perhaps it's he.

I wouldn't be suprised if it was Hiro. They made him into such a clown, in recent seasons. I swear, What happened to the guy that cut up Sylar in season 1, and Trapped Adam Munroe in a coffin for all eternity in season 2? Hiro is my favorite character on the show, but they keep bringing him down lower and lower. First they make him into wimpy side character, then they take away his powers, then they give him back powers, then he starts to die when he uses it. This is bullshit. What happened to the show, that I ran home to watch every Monday night?

Is Mohinder even on the show anymore?I think Sylar has got to go.

I gotta agree with dellamorte. they wont kill hiro cause they have already told you he's going to die. I figure it'll be the classic bait and switch. I've only watched the first two episodes for this season, but thats what I thought too. it'll be the side-kick (since hiro is asian, sayin he has an asian sidekick is a little redundant. I mean you wouldn't refer to bucky as caps anglo sidekick)

I've watched the show from day one and it has gone down hill...FAST! My opinion: they need to get rid of several characters and bring in some new stories and keep them! When they brought in Claire's real mom, the speedy chick and the puppet guy and a few others, it was a good change, but they killed ALL OF THEM OFF!

Claire's story never changes, get rid of her! Parkman's story never changes, get rid of him. I like Hiro in the beginning, but his story is going nowhere. Move on. They need some new blood and keep them around.

@ecksman

I'm right there with you. I felt the puppet guy was interesting. i mean, the guy controls your every movement against your will. You then had the girl who resembles Quicksilver from the comic books, but the network felt it was best to remove them both and yet keep redundant characters...why? Because they were present since season one? I think the ratings have suffered tremendously due to viewers seeing the same thing over and over without much climax...not that the same characters is an issue but the story seems to go nowhere and it creates room for you to lose interest. This new carnival story is boring me already and it just started. They need a change and they need it fast because going from 13.6 million viewers to the current 5.6 million viewers doesn't cut it.

I could do without either Sylar, Matt, Nathan, Hiro, Ando or Mohinder. Probably gonne be Ando. If they kill of Bennet I might actually stop watching.

Anyway, there have been so many character deaths and revivals already, I'm not really taking any announcement like that seriously anymore. Hell, Nathan should definetely be dead and gone for a long time now.

All in all I don't think this little stunt will bring more people back to the show than the lame lesbian kiss thing.

The biggest plot hole in the entire Heroes Universe is that....we saw Noah come back to life by having a Claire's blood injected into him by Suresh. So it's beyond me how that information somehow doesn't get out and revive Nathan and/or cure Hiro. And don't tell me it's not out there, because Mrs. Petrelli knows everything that went on in her company.

I saw this, didn't think CBM was that interested in HEROES news anymore, well im glad im wrong.

Great stuff @ WHISPERS!! Nothing better than a major DEATH to up the ratings, and the show needs it if their gonna survive! Still luv HEROES though, its no where near a let down than the last season of Smallville, series 8!

Hoping the new series blows us away!! ; D

Bravo...Just Bravo. "The biggest plot hole in the entire Heroes Universe is that....we saw Noah come back to life by having a Claire's blood injected into him by Suresh."

Want to know why this hasn't been done for Nathan? Because they feel we somehow forget Claire's blood could revive people and the best route to take is bridge this ridiculous story of Nathan and Sylar sharing screen time together. What bothered me the most with this situation, they haven't even allowed time to go by before Sylar began appearing through the memory loss.

Immediately after creating the mental switcheroo, they had Nathan in the last seconds of the episode reflect on the ticking of a clock. I mean, really? Great story telling NBC. Give it maybe seven or so episodes before you have this guy break through the mental switch created by Matt. This show is becoming more lame with each episode

I was about to give up on Heroes, but I kind of like what the show is doing with Sylar. In his real body, he has no memory of who he was; and in Greg Grunberg's mind, Sylar is trying to force his way out.

The show still needs serious work.

Hiro is very annoying now. I agree with supermarioworld, he needs to go back to the way he was in the first season.
TheHardGospel
TheHardGospel - 10/14/2009, 2:27 PM
Another thing that annoys me is.....I'm not a saint, but if I were Claire, I'd work as a janitor for a Children's Hospital and at night, I stalk from room to room and inject my super healing blood into every one of them.
Whispers68

@ Weakmusic4thomas

Peter is doing something along this concept. He's helping others as a paramedic...Claire could be written somehow into helping others with her blood or something of the sort. The loopholes simply overwhelm me when it comes down to really thinking about the direction the writers take each character. Great characters are killed off before their potential. You then have lame characters getting more screen time than they should. I simply find the imbalance a bit funny.

Thanks guys, and what's up with that Tattoo guy? What is his power, to be completely vague about what his power is?
kickassduke
kickassduke - 10/14/2009, 2:43 PM
Lets not forget in Season 2, Nathan's injuries from flying Peter out of NYC were healed by the same means HRG was. And Hiro can't die yet. It would screw with the fact that Hiro appeared to Peter in Season 1 from the future and gave the catchy "save the cheerleader, save the world" line. That wasnt a Hiro from the near future, but quite distant (i dont remember if he actually told Peter what time he was from). I agree with the general idea of a refresher. There's nothing wrong with NOT continuing the "Claire/Matt/Petrelli" stories. Create new situations and new characters and move on...hell, that setup makes for a great "bring so-and-so back for an episode or two for a twist!"

Btw, whats with the chick that can see sound as color? And now this color can manifest physically by damaging her wall by playing too hard/loud?? Really?

I think it's about time for this show to die.. They have already taken everyone's powers away several times and given them back. They have also killed a bunch of people who always seem to come back some other way. It's just gotten ridiculous. You can tell they're just making it all up as they go. This show has become an insult..
HeyVanity
HeyVanity - 10/14/2009, 3:20 PM

I agree. They made everyone too powerful in the first season and now they don't know what to do with anyone except take their powers away. It's the same bullshit over and over. Alot of them just need to go.

There are so many unanswered questions from the beginning of season 3. It seems like they are beginning to head in a direction where they will finally answer those, like:

1.) Sylar's son Noah in the future
2.) why Sylar was "nicer" in that future
3.) The earth tearing apart
4.) Ando killing Hero

It feels like we're starting to see convergence between that season and this one. Sylar has lost his memory. Samuel is an earth mover. Volume 4 kind of did the same thing in that it was kind of showing how the future from season 1 came to be; ie. how Sylar became president and why the specials were being hunted by the government. I think this volume will connect with volume three in that same sense.

So far, I think this season is really good. It's better than the last 2 seasons, and although rating are down, NBC is taking into account the fact that it is one of the most downloaded/watched shows on the internet.

MOHINDER FOR THE LOVE OF GOD LET IT BE MOHINDER. Even though I stopped watching this show half way through series 3 that character should have died a LONG time ago.

I see a lot of people agree on this Mohinder character but if he's supposedly someone the site says fans would miss deeply...I doubt it's him, simply because he's been missing for quite some time and he hasn't been the most popular character so it must be someone else.
HeyVanity
HeyVanity - 10/14/2009, 3:52 PM
haha yeah I wish it was Mohinder.. He just sorta disappeared though so I really doubt it'll be him. What the hell happened to that guy anyway? He hasn't been in this season even once yet..
HeyVanity
HeyVanity - 10/14/2009, 3:54 PM
And I really don't think they're taking the future into account anymore.. However, if they are I'm afraid it'll be Bennett. If so, I probably won't be watching this show anymore either.

What I want to know is WHERE IS PETERS IRISH GIRLFRIEND. He leaves her in the future and totally forgets about her. Dude that has got to suck. One day he is going to be walking around New York and she is going to walk up to him and be "What the hell happened?" and he is going to be like "Oops"

I'm sure he's going to be part of the big plot twist that will eventually come in this season.

I always wondered the same thing, Lobojon1. I supposed since that reality of time no longer exists, his Irish girl friend must have pop out of time itself. LOL.
Macksimus
Macksimus - 10/14/2009, 4:37 PM
The writers of the show are aware of the fact that Peter's girlfriend was left in that future. They say they have no plans to revisit her character right now. They said that they wanted to, but the writers strike ****ed up the rest of season 2 pretty badly. They admit it is a plothole, but they're not going to do anything about it except to just let it go and forget about it.
HeyVanity
HeyVanity - 10/14/2009, 4:51 PM
@Macksimus: Yeah that seems to be their attitude about alot of the issues with this show.. They aren't even trying to hide the fact that they're making it all up as they go. All they care about is ratings. The "story" is ridiculous.
