The Mandalorian shocked all of us with the return of Temuera Morrison as Boba Fett, and last week's episode, "The Tragedy", certainly didn't disappoint. In that, the bounty hunter donned his familiar armour and took out a legion of Stormtroopers with Din Djarin and Fennec Shand by his side.
Now, he's aligned himself with Din in order to retrieve Grogu from the Empire.
Fett's return was widely reported before The Mandalorian season 2 aired, but it's is a secret Morrison has sat on for upwards of a year, as he first met with Lucasfilm in August 2019.
"I went to have a meeting at [Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni's] office, and I was put in a room to wait," the actor recalls. "I got there quite early because I was excited, I didn’t want to be late. While I was waiting, I was looking at some of the conceptual drawings on the wall, and I suddenly saw an image of a guy that looked like me. I said, ‘Jeez, I’m sure that’s me there.’ I didn’t want to get too excited."
Fett has clearly been through a lot since we last saw him, and along with the scars on his face, the bounty hunter sounded a little different that we remembered. Morrison explained that the makeup ended up having an impact on his performance as it gave him a better understanding of what his character had likely been through since being blasted into the Sarlacc Pit on Tatooine.
"It was a conscious choice," Morrison says of changing Fett's voice. "I thought, every now and then he hit some tonal qualities where, hey, he has been scarred. He has been affected internally, as well. So without sounding too false I wanted to bring a little gravel in there to give it a bit of timbre."
Fans are definitely excited to see what comes next for the character, and it seems likely he'll have a big role to play in the next two episodes. "Chapter 15" of The Mandalorian hits Disney+ tomorrow!

Tython is a planet with a lot of history in the Star Wars Universe, and a location which is powerful in the Force. Who Grogu connected with remains to be seen, but we're betting on Ezra Bridger.
Seeing Slave I circle Tython was undeniably incredible, while the arrival of the Stormtroopers also made it clear that the stakes were going to be high in Robert Rodriguez's episode of The Mandalorian.
"The Tragedy" confirmed that the Dark Troopers are fully robotic, so there go those compelling theories about Moff Gideon creating Force sensitive human/cyborg hybrids to take over the Galaxy.
We're still not over the destruction of the Razor Crest, but Slave I is a pretty cool ship to hitch a ride on, eh? Here, we get a proper look at the interior, and there will be plenty of room for Din Djarin's crew.
Grogu appears to be more powerful after visiting Tython, but using the Force exhausts him, and that made him easy prey for Moff Gideon. The question is, who is the "donor" the villain mentioned here?
