VENOM: LET THERE BE CARNAGE Director Andy Serkis Suggests Carnage Could Return In Some Form

Venom: Let There Be Carnage director Andy Serkis has suggested that Carnage might have survived the events of the sequel, returning in a new form somewhere down the line. Be warned that spoilers follow...

Venom: Let There Be Carnage ended with Venom devouring the Carnage symbiote and biting off Cletus Kasady's head. It certainly wasn't how fans would have liked the villain's story to end, but could the serial killer return to cause more carnage in a future movie starring the Lethal Protector?

In the comic books, Venom once "ate" Carnage and later fell sick once it became clear he couldn't contain the symbiote. Cletus, meanwhile, has been resurrected on countless occasions, and his unique transformation into Carnage on the big screen could leave the door open to him being reformed. Now, director Andy Serkis has admitted that we could see more of the villain down the line.

"The fact of the matter is, I always like to think there might just be that little bit of symbiote that didn't quite get devoured by Venom," Serkis tells Phase Zero (via @SSMUNews). "[It] could be hanging around in some baptismal font in the church just swimming around [and] could somehow come back to life."

"I always say, 'No one ever really dies,'" the filmmaker added. "I'm still hoping Ulysses Klaue is going to come back, for God's sake!"

It's certainly intriguing to ponder where Carnage's story could go next, though it does seem more likely a Venom 3 would shift the spotlight to Detective Pat Mulligan becoming Toxin. That third instalment is in the works, though there's no word on plot details or whether Serkis will be back in the director's chair.

@OptimusCrime - I know. They botched the opportunity they had. Not sure if they could really turn it around for the character let alone the franchise...

Is there really a reason too? If they want another symbiote, they might as well go with Scream, Lasher, Phage, Agony, Scorn, Mania or Hybdrid. Enough to choose from

Noooo thank you. Considering the mid credit scene in No Way Home hopefully we get a better version of Venom and also Carnage someday

@RokoVII - Yeah, hopefully. I know I almost laughed because Tom Hardy Venom's job was basically to drop off a package lol

Enough from the Symbiotes!

To be honest, Carnage died and returned in the comics about fifty times, but I'm not interested in this weird Woody version.

However, a spin-off tv show about an special task force unit hunting down Carnage would be a lot of interesting horror fun.

You know if they don't have plans on crossing Tom Hardy's Venom with some version of Spider-Man then might as well just focus on a new Venom in the MCU. But we all know that won't be the case.

Hopefully Carnage returns in a better movie. Venom 2 was YIKES, in my opinion.

@DemonTweeks - thats the only thing that had me somewhat excited about the sequel because I hated the first one... now I like the first one because of how terrible the sequel was

Unless Sony collaborate with Marvel Studios on any future Venom movies, I do not give a F***.

Let this franchise DIE!

Absolute butchering of the characters. Venom looked like something from the early 2000's & whilst Let There Be Carnage was only slightly better than the first, nothing that makes me want to see Venom 3 from Sony alone.

Feige & Co involved though, I believe COULD salvage Venom & any future solo Venom releases but that is the only way I'd consider potentially wasting my time with the third Venom to see if Marvel Studios can salvage Sony's trash!

I'd really want Sony to rethink their approach for Venom. Do a third and final movie that sees Hardy battle Andrew Garfield's version of Spider-Man and end it once both team up to take out the invading symbiotes.

But from then on out: finish the Venom movies.
The first and second movie were even worse than BvS and JL, while these two might have been bad they at least had heart behind them. These two were just cynical to a point of parody

Two Venom films are dumb, entertaining fun, but I can’t help but lament the how much of a parody of themselves Venom and Carnage have been portrayed as.

@LeonNova - The problem of making everything PG rated, when the character is anything but. At least Tom Hardy made it likeable enough.

Don’t even care - Sony and Serkis did a terrible job with Carnage.

With all the scrapping of the bottom.of the barrell Sony is doing it felts DC level of dumb from a pragmátic point not making Carnage and Shriek recurring villians 🤔

Man, I love Andy Serkis but seriously, how the hell he made the worst movie ive seen all year? Terrible, just terrible and also a cringe fest.

@DarkDetective - He's simply a bad director. Good person but come on. He also made Mowgli or something which was bad as well. How is he a director ? Wasn't he a great mo-cap actor ? Weird seeing him have this much power as a director to do some big films. He really hasn't shown he is capable of carrying this part.
DarkDetective
DarkDetective - 12/29/2021, 4:33 PM
@Typhoon20 - well, tbh, i liked his previous directorial work. I saw Breathe in a festival starring Andrew Garfield and it was good, kind of a generic drama but still good. Mowgli I really liked because I wasnt really a fan of Favreu's Jungle Book and Serkis' was like a really really dark kids movie, so that was kinda unique. Venom 2 was just crap.
