Lynda Carter On WONDER WOMAN; Gives Thoughts On Michelle MacLaren's Departure

In 1975 a Wonder Woman TV Series was created and Lynda Carter got the spot as Wonder Woman! Now we're getting a new Wonder Woman film set to release June 23rd, 2017, and Gal Gadot will get to play the Mighty Amazon in this film. With that said, Lynda Carter, when asked in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, spoke on whether or not she thought there should have been another Wonder Woman film made after her series. "I think we need to move it on."

When asked about what she thought about Michelle MacLaren's departure, she responded by saying she, herself would love to have a creative position in the film, "I would love to be involved in a creative position of it." She then continued, "I know so much about what people want from it, I think, that just being as a consultant on a movie. I think it needs a woman." Even though she would like to be involved in the film, she revealed that she hasn't talked to Warner Bros. about her having a possible part in helping create the Wonder Woman film. "Not yet, no, but I may."

Will the classic Wonder Woman have a cameo appearance in the film? Does she even want to have a cameo? Well, according to Lynda Carter she'd want an important role, rather than a brief "Hi and Goodbye.” cameo appearance. "Well it’s not so much that I want to cameo, if I have a part, if there was something that was nice about it,  or if it was a piece that meant something, whether if I was the mother, or an image from the past, or whatever it is, then it would be a little bit different." She then made clear that a cameo is most likely a no-go for her, "But to do a walk on as a cameo, for the fun of it, I probably wouldn’t do it."

So, now that her thoughts are out, what do you think? Should Lynda Carter have a pivotal role in the new Wonder Woman film? Or do you think that she should just settle with a Stan Lee-type cameo appearance? Sound off below with your thoughts!

I'd love her to have a role.
Not Hippolyta, but maybe Diana's boss in America? Or perhaps a confidant in America?

I'm sure she would've loved to voice the magical Tiger in Maclaren's version

Am I the only one who is happy about this???...

I don't get it....why does marvel and DC need a female Diector for a female super hero movie??
Just get a good director....

I'm glad she's not doing it...I think WB are going after big names not small names whose done tv shows
Look at their list and rumors of who they are getting

Zack for batman/superman
21/22 jump street directors for the flash
James wan rumor for aquaman
They want big names

Listen.
I love her take on WonderWoman just like I love C.Reeves and Michael Keaton.

But they're not the be all end all interpretations of the comics.

If anything they're not that much like the comic characters.
Like Snyder said they're not taking into account past interpretations but instead doing their characters as if there had never been other interpretations.

The obvious choice is to make her Hippolyta, and it'd be the perfect cameo for her.

Why do people care about Linda Carter's thoughts on Wonder Woman? It's like asking Adan West about his thoughts on Batfleck! It's irrelevant!

Lol. . I love Linda Carter but I don't trust her judgment. This is the same woman who thought that trash wonder woman show with Adrienne Palicki was the best representation of the character since her show.

So no... I don't want her creative input

Y'all gotta lay off Lynda Carter. What do y'all know about her creative input? Just cause she's from an older incarnation? Yo, she knows Wonder Woman is approached at a different angle nowadays but that doesn't mean she doesn't understand the character. She knows Diana's strengths, virtue, and what the character stands for. I'd be happy to see her give tips on the character to Gal Gadot and would very much welcome her presence on any creative front in this film. Cause she knows what makes Diana special and your arguments are that she only understands a skewed version of Wonder Woman based off her 70's show and will revert the film towards that bias. Smh.

Wonder Woman is immortal and was created from clay by her mother..and was blessed with the powers of the greek gods. This is a great opportunity to tell a story in the film that touches on that. The original Wonder Woman (Lynda Carter ) has long retired from fight against the injustice..the world is a little more peaceful now. Wonder Woman has returned to Paradise Island and has inherited her mom's throne as queen. During this time Queen Diana (Lynda Carter) had created her only child from clay and blessed her with powers like hers. She named this child Diana. Years later, Diana Jr. grown up to become a very smart, athletic, and beautiful woman. Later the world was turning dark again..so Queen Diana start up a contest like in the days of old..she believe some things never go out of style. Queen Diana allows her daughter Diana to compete .Diana wins and leaves Paradise Island to join the US Military, her fellow soldiers nick named her Wonder Woman.. a nod to the legend..as the soldiers not knowing the she is the daughter of that legend. Diana later left the military to become a solo secret weapon against evil all over the world. She stay in contact with Queen Diana via hologram for guidance in fighting evil. I hope Lynda Carter like this idea.I hope fans of Lynda Carter and Wonder Woman like this idea. Lynda, let me know how you feel about it.
