WONDER WOMAN: Will Elena Anaya's Doctor Poison Return In The Sequel?

We still don't know when and where the Wonder Woman sequel will be set, but you have to believe it's possible that some familiar faces will return! Will Doctor Poison be among them, though?

Doctor Poison is only a supporting villain in Wonder Woman, but she still manages to make quite the impact in the movie. As the one responsible for creating the gas which Steve Trevor is ultimately forced to sacrifice his life to destroy, she's very nearly killed by Diana Prince at the behest of God of War, Ares.

Depending on when the Wonder Woman sequel is set (World War II and the present day have been touted as possibilities), we could see Doctor Poison make her return and actress Elena Anaya has revealed that she's contracted to return should Warner Bros. choose to bring the villain back.

"Yes yes yes. But I have no answer for that. As you know, when these movies are made, they ask you basically to marry them for the rest of your life. [Laughs] I’d be so happy to be back, to be able to be evil again. It’s so good, it’s so fantastic." It's common for actors to sign multi-picture deals so this shouldn't come as too big of a surprise, but it definitely feels like more could be done with Poison.

No. Get a real villain. That's the problem with Wonder Woman. She's doesn't have a great rogues gallery.

@Luminus - Cheetah, Hades, Veronica Kale. Circe, Doctor Psycho, Giganta, Doctor Cyber are pretty great though

@Luminus - Now hold on! She's got some great villains! Blue Snowman, Cyborgirl, Angle Man, Doctor Cyber....

Ok. Some of it is slim pickings.

However, she has some other great enemies that I think could present a solid main threat for Wonder Woman and carry a film:

Circe
The First Born
Eris/Strife
Cheetah (if done as God of the Hunt, not JLU version)
Hades
Maxwell Lord
Veronica Cale (would definitely need some muscle to back her up)
Felix Faust (My personal hope for a sequel)

Granted, Faust isn't actually a Wonder Woman villain. But I think he'd be fantastic!

- I've never heard of more than half the people on that list. Cheetah, Hades, Giganta, Maxwell Lord, and Felix Faust are known but not great. Ares was in the animated movie, but he was a mediocre villain in an otherwise good movie (just like the live action movie). Who is this woman's Joker? Her Green Goblin? Her Darkseid?

Name one notable story arc with those characters. I'll go read it.

While I see your point that these villains need to be fleshed out in the books more, that doesn't mean they can't be great characters. A film might be the face lift any of these characters need to be a truly menacing threat to Wonder Woman.

How many people had heard of Ego? Iron Monger? Even Ra's Al Ghul was a fairly obscure character for the mainstream viewer before Batman Begins.

Unfortunately WW doens't have many GREAT stories, so you probably already know what to read.
Although just for the sake of, i recommend Perez'WW, Rucka's and Azzarello!
Don't underestimate Max Lord, read Sacrifice for example!
Her Nemesis is Cheetah or Circe, just like Superman's nemesis could be considered Lex Luthor or Darkseid.
But Ares, Circe, Apollo, and everyone else mentioned above, are all great villains imho! :)

@TheRose - Nope. All well-known characters. The general public doesn't count.

@Doomsday8888 - No, I need specific issues, please.

I know they try to make it Cheetah, but I haven't seen anything special about that villain ever. I don't even know who Circe is. Never heard of her, which is all I need to know.

I know about Sinestro, yet I've never read a Green Lantern comic. That's a strong testament to the character's greatness. Same thing for the Reverse Flash. I've never read a Flash Comic, yet I know. Same for the Red Skull and Loki.

Sacrifice has Superman in it. That automatically disqualifies the comic as a great Wonder Woman story. She has to stand on her own.

I don't exactly share your...erm...logic on Sacrifice, like TDKR features lots of others DC characters, but at the end of the day, it's a Bat-Story, and a damn good one.

Also, characters like Ares, Apollo, Circe, are all part of Greek mythology so you surely must have heard about them one way or another?
If you want a nice starting point, just read the Rebirth era of WW, you'll find the origin and everything for Cheetah.
1 to 25 (the last issue will come out in the next 2 weeks).
For the Greek Mithology-villains, read the New 52 era, That's the Azzarello run.
1 to 35 i think.
The biggest story between WW and Max is Sacrifice, can't be helped! :P
War of the Gods is also nice, a 4 part miniseries. (mainly for Circe).
