There were several actors that were said to be up for the role of Wolverine before Hugh Jackman brought the iconic Marvel mutant to life in Bryan Singer's
X-Men, and one of them was Mel Gibson. How close he actually came to playing the part is unknown, but providing the above concept sketch from artist Miles Teves (
