Thom Schillinger is a 3D conceptual designer for the entertainment industry, creating advertising material and logos for popular television shows and for Hollywood's biggest blockbusters. During a 16 hour span Thom created over 200 logos for X-Men 2. You can view all of them by clicking here. What's interesting, is that 20th Century Fox picked one of his early designs as the film's logo.

I did a few rounds for the next level, for the "Pay-off Poster" that was fun to design, namely we wanted to show the doors open with the X-Men walking towards camera. Lasers, jet engines, giant Cogs, and locks were fun to play around with, but the exercise did not pay off with a finish. - Thom Schillinger

Thom also worked on the logo for X-Men: The Last Stand, as 20th Century Fox liked Thom's past designs for X-Men 2, keeping the continuity in place. As you can see below, Thom continued exploring a logo that would incorporate the Cerebro Doors, like he had attempted in the X-Men 2 logo designs above. "Once designed we explored outdoor campaigns for the sides of buildings, bus sides, and also freestanding billboards. The idea was that "Energy" blasted throuh leaving only an "X". Never finished though it was a strong concept, IMHO." - Thom Schillinger

X-Men: Days Of Future Past will be directed by Bryan Singer ("Usual Suspects"), the cast includes Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, January Jones, Sean Cassidy, Álex González, Jason Flemyng, Zoe Kravitz, Lucas Till, Nicholas Hault. Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart. The film will hit theaters July 18, 2014.

Why don't they use some of the better posters? Why do they always choose some of the more simple ones for their marketing campaigns? could someone explain that to me?

X-Men 3 was the best hands down. Brett Ratner was the perfect director for all the action scenes.

X3 was a lot better than most people give it credit for being, it was nice to actually see the X-Men working as a team fighting mutants together with leadership and the fastball special as well. The story was lacking sure, and the scarlet witch wanna-be dark phoenix was terrible. The action and Kelsey Grammar as Beast...phenomenal!

just a heads up @nailbiter111 a majority of that Days of Future Past cast you have listed hasn't been confirmed or even rumored to be coming back... Sean Cassidey is a character name as well.. January Jones (confirmed no involvement), Caleb Landry Jones (who plays Sean Cassidey), Álex González, Zoe Kravitz, Lucas Till haven't been mentioned and likely won't make the cut.. however, you missed Anna Paquin, Ellen Page and Shawn Ashmore who were confirmed by Singer to be returning..

X-Men: The Last Stand is such an underrated film. It really is as good as Superman 3 and 4.
