Even More Possible X-Men: First Class Spoilers Revealed!

Hit the jump for more details on the prequel including the fact that it'll be Magneto getting the most screentime and which mutants will be a part of the Hellfire Club. Also, new info on this films relationship to the past ones...

Both myself and DCMarvelFreshman posted some spoilers from someone claiming to have worked on the movie which were revealed via the SuperHeroHype forums earlier this week. Well, they've been at it again, this time sharing plenty of interesting new information on the characters and storyline. As there's no way of verifying this, it's once again best to take it all with a huge grain of salt, but I think you'll agree that it still makes for an interesting read!

Xavier is going to be crippled in this film. Xavier and Magneto have a distinct falling out.

Azazel and Riptide are villains, lackies of Shaw, unsure if they're actually members of The Hellfire Club.

Banshee does not start out with Xavier (well, duh). He works with OIiver Platt's character, The Man in Black, as does Moria McTaggert.

This movie is largely about Magneto. This isn't just going to be Xavier and the X-Men. Magneto has a massive role, probably bigger than any of the other films. It sort of begins with Magneto, and segueways to Charles. It's very much XAVIER AND MAGNETO, though.

Emma Frost has a role about the size of Mystique's in X-MEN. Maybe a little bigger. She uses her powers a lot, so yes, she is in fight scenes.

The falling out between Xavier and Magneto is not over a "chick". It's over ideals. As it should be.

You are being kept in the dark because the filmmakers have something very special in store. Simple, but very special.

It's not an alternate timeline. It's a vague prequel in the sense that SUPERMAN RETURNS was a vague sequel.

What do you guys think about all this? As shocked as I am to be saying this, it almost makes the movie sound good despite the huge differences from the comic books. Be sure to share your thoughts in the usual place! X-Men: First Class is set to be released on June 3, 2011!

We must remember that Vaughn is a pretty talented director. If we can set aside the continuity issues (both internal and compared to the comics) it might be a good film.

Also, adding a Santa hat to your avatar RULES.

Nice one dude. Some we would have known(or guessed at anyway) but some is a surprise. I'm liking this vague prequel thing. Leaves a bit of room for reinterpretation.

Josh@ Agree! How twisted it sounds, im interested to see this now?!... But still im doubtful, that its going to be great! I might watch it just because the director and cast! James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Kevin Bacon, January Jones, Rose Byrne, Nicholas Hoult, Jennifer Lawrence, Lucas Till, Ray Wise with Jason Flemyng and Oliver Platt

Thx for the post, JW. Seems like there's no real info here. Educated guess Charles will be crippled, that Magneto will have a big role, that Charles/Mag feud won't be over a woman.

MY scooper says we'll see Charles & Magneto build the X-Jet & build Cerebro. He says before the films ends we'll see young versions of Jean and Scott. He goes on to say there will be a hint about Wolverine in the film.

My scooper is a dope smoking hand puppet and he's a liar.

First class with only 1 out of 5 of the original members and somehow Emma is older in the past than she is in Origins AND Mystique is a teenager even though she was born 60 years before the 1960s. Why do they keep ruining my favorite comic?

I believe the part about the size of Emma's role. When Alice Eve quit, there was speculation that she did so because the part wasn't as big as she wanted it to be.

I think they are adapting Emma Frost to Amelia Voght in the comic.. gelous Xavier`s girlfrind who break up because of his students
RammaJamma
RammaJamma - 12/29/2010, 3:23 PM
Well you have to give them credit for not going with "lets put in mutants that the mainstream public are familiar with game". That could be because fox has f*cked us with there interpretation of some of them i.e. X-men origins: Wolverine and X3. Its a big gamble but Vaughn can take iffy subject matter and make it good.

i just hope it sets it up to fix the pile of dog shit Breett Ranner dumb ass made of XTLS. like how Prof X comes back as well as Jean and Scott. like maybe a Shadow King reference and also a reference to the Astral Plane and maybe they can bring back Prof X that way in X-Men 4. then use X-Men 4 to set up Days of Futures Past.

Thanks guys. :) Still not sure what to make of this movie (feeling as negative as ever towards Fox at the moment regardless) but I have a feeling we're going to start getting a lot more official info/pictures in the New Year which should help.

"Banshee does not start out with Xavier (well, duh). He works with OIiver Platt's character, The Man in Black, as does Moria McTaggert."

This quote is the most interesting to me. I had been very certain that Platt would play Amahl Farouk, the host of the Shadow King when Xavier first meets him. This quote however, if true, says to me that Platt is playing one of Sinisters alter ego's, that of an Oxford Professor that gets between Moira and Charles, causing Moira to break off her engagement and driving Charles to travel the world.

I don't like Azezal as a "lackey" of Shaw, though Riptide could believably be so as Janos Quested was a very wealthy man before joining the Marauders. Plus, if I'm right about Platt this time, Riptide could very well end up a Marauder by the end.

As SHIT as the story seems to be thus far for this film, I'm sure all of us can agree they have some great acting talent for this film.

One question? If Prof X is crippled in this movie (year 1962) then how is he seen walking at the end of Wolverine (year 1985) then crippled again in X-Men (year 2000)? I hope he gets a good deal on wheel chairs or at least keeps his old ones when he's not crippled. Sucks to be the Proffesor.
