E! Online has debunked the world wide internet rumor that Taylor "Jacob" Lautner has been cast in Matthew Vaughn's X-Men prequel, "X-Men: First Class".
According to E, sources close to Lautner says it is "not true"... I really cant say I am shocked.
Look, Taylor Lautner is HUGE right now, yes. I would not be surprised if FOX really did opt to cast him in "X-Men: First Class", but lets be real here, Lautner has the "Twilight" franchise right now and he just got cast as "Stretch Armstrong"... I dont even think Lautner would accept an offer to be in "X-Men: First Class" considering he already is a superhero and has a major franchise to deal with. Hell, Sharkboy is a superhero!
So there you have it, Taylor Lautner is NOT joining "X-Men: First Class", the film being directed by Matthew Vaughn, and starring James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and Alice Eve. "X-Men: First Class" is set for a June 3, 2011 release date.
P.S., just for fun, who could Lautner have played? I say Beast...
