Visually it looks impressive, but it has several things going against it, such as director Paul W.S. Anderson. His claim to fame is that he directed the
Resident Evil films with his wife Milla Jovovich in the lead. Those films visually were good, but lacked a decent enough plot, and interesting dialogue.
I have such low expectations for this film, that any surprise from it would have to be a good thing, so they got that going for them. I'm not happy that they are using airships in the film since the technology for that is historically inaccurate. It's not off by a decade or two, were talking about a hundreds year off. That is like making a film World War I movie with the soldiers on Segways.
